Objective To analyze the related risk factors of mortality in hospitalized patients with liver cirrhosis. Methods From December 2001 to April 2015,7287 patients with liver cirrhosis were collected in General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University.Among them,6981 patients were better and discharged, named alive group;306 patients died in hospital, named dead group. Then collected the clinical data of the patients in two groups, including general information, common complications, wheather with liver failure or combined with other diseases.Chi-square test was performed for comparison between the two groups. The related risk factors of mortality in hospitalized patients with liver cirrhosis were analyzed by multivariate Logistic regression analysis. The difference was statistically significant when P <0.05.Results1、General information In dead group, male 239(78.10%),female 67(21.90%);Han nationality 262(85.62%),Hui nationality 36(11.76%),Mongolian 6(1.96%),Manchu 2(0.65%);the minimum age was 0.42 years old(5 months)and the maximum age was 88 years old,the average age in this group was(54.57 ± 13.23)years old;Among them,51.63% were middle-aged patients whose age between 46 and 65 years old2、The incidence rate of complications in dead group was higher than that in alive group, every complication between the two groups was statistically significant(P <0.05).The first three complications in dead group were upper gastrointestinal bleeding 61.76%,infection57.52% and hepatic encephalopathy37.91%.3、Liver failure In dead group,15.03% patients had liver failure, the proportion was higher than that in alive group1.83%,there was significant difference between the two groups(P <0.05).4 、 Other diseases The proportion of patients combined with heart disease 、 hypertension、 cerebrovascular disease、diabetes was higher than that in alive group, there was significant difference between the two groups(P <0.05).The first three combined disease in dead group were diabetes 16.67%,hypertension 9.15% and heart disease 5.56%.5、Multivariate analysis Put all statistically significant variables into multivariate Logistic regression analysis. It showed that age(OR = 1.020),upper gastrointestinal bleeding(OR = 6.734),infection(OR = 2.462),hepatic encephalopathy(OR = 3.316),hepatorenal syndrome(OR = 2.672),hepatocellular carcinoma(OR = 1.754),electrolyte balance disorders(OR = 1.886),liver failure(OR = 2.485)and heart disease(OR = 2.258)are independent risk factors for the mortality in hospitalized patients with liver cirrhosis.Conclusion1、In this study, most of the patients in dead group were middle-aged and the number of males is more than females.2、The first three complications in dead group were upper gastrointestinal bleeding, infection and hepatic encephalopathy in this study.3、Age,the majority of complications(upper gastrointestinal bleeding, infection, etc.),with liver failure and heart disease maybe be the independent risk factors for the mortality in hospitalized patients with liver cirrhosis.
