Objective(1)Using resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging(Rs-f MRI)independent component analysis(ICA)to investigate the change of brain functional connectivity in default mode network of recruits with adjustment disorders;(2)Voxel based morphometry(VBM)was used to analyze gray matter volume in the regions with functional changes in recruits with adjustment disorders.Materials and Methods A total of 17 sex-,age-and education level matched recruits with adjustment disorder who meet the inclusion criteria were compared with 20 non-adjustment disorder and 20 healthy controls. All participants were examined by Siemens 3.0T Trio Tim magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),and T2 WI,sagittal T1WI-3D structure image and resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging(f MRI)were performed in all subjects.Resting state data were analyzed using data processing assistant for resting state f MRI(DPARSF)and resting state f MRI data analysis toolkit(REST).We explored functional activity changes in DMN regions by comparing resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging(rs-f MRI)signals using independent component analysis(ICA).Using the VBM method based on T13 D structure images to calculate the brain gray matter volume and find the volume changes in the regions with functional changes.Results(1)Compared with the healthy controls, the adjustment disorder recruits showed decreased connectivity in left and right medial prefrontal cortex, left precuneus and increased connectivity in right inferior parietal lobule;the non-adjustment disorder recruits showed increased connectivity in left medial prefrontal cortex.Compared with the non-adjustment disorder recruits, the adjustment disorder recruits showed decreased connectivity in right medial prefrontal cortex;(2)The group gray matter volume in the bilateral anterior and middle cingulate cortex was decreased in adjustment disorder recruits,as compared with nonadjustment disorder recruits; Also,The gray matter volume in the left superior frontal gyrus and left middle frontal gyrus was decreased in adjustment disorder recruits,as compared with healthy controls; There was no gray matter volume difference between non-adjustment disorder recruits and healthy controls.Conclusion(1)The default mode network functional connectivity of adjustment disorder recruits was found to be abnormal in the brain region of medial prefrontal cortex, anterior cingulate cortex, precuneus, inferior parietal lobule.(2)The gray matter volume of the adjustment disorder recruits was abnormal, mainly in the prefrontal cortex and anterior cingulate cortex.(3)The change of brain network in adjustment disorder recruits accompanied with brain structure changes, may be the neuropathological mechanism of the disease.
