Objectives:(1)Take an investigation on the LOS(Length of Stay,LOS)in PACU(Post Anesthesia Care Unit,PACU)among OSA(Obstructive Sleep Apnea,OSA)patients.(2)Analyze the related factors influencing the LOS of OSA patients in PACU.(3)Summarize nursing countermeasures about post anesthesia care of OSA patients. Methods:This study used a questionnaire survey to facilitate taking of samples.Select104 cases of diagnosed or suspected OSA patients as the research object in one PACU since December 2016 to March 2017.Research tools included STOP-Bang scale and self-designed "Awakening questionnaire of OSA patients after general anesthesia in PACU".SPSS 19.0 statistical software was used for data analysis.Descriptive statistics(frequency, percentages),Correlative Analysis and Multiple linear regression analysis were used to estimate the LOS and influencing factors.Results:1.In the majority, ranging in age from 18 to 40 patients accounted for 73.1% of the study object.Body mass index above 28 kg/m2 were 84.6%.2.There were 21 patients diagnosed with OSA,and 83 suspected OSA.As to patients’ condition, moderate of OSA classification took 46.2% of the object.About39.4% of the objects associated with hypertension. What’s more, objects had difficult airway were quite a few number that accounted for 63.5%.3.About 58.7% of the objects accepted non-tracheal intubation general anesthesia in our study.4.The average of LOS in the PACU was 2.38+0.699 hours.5.Most of the objects suffer from post-operative complications, the percentage was 92.3% of all.Among them, the occurrence rate of respiratory events was 100%,concentrate mainly on airway obstruction(25.3%),hypoxemia(22.4%),respiratory depression(19.9%)and laryngospasm(14.2%).Besides,the incidence of postoperative agitation was also noticeable(55.2%).6.Correlation analysis for each study variables to select relevant variables, and then with the PACU time multivariate linear regression analysis.According to the degree of contribution to the dependent variable, respectively were post-operative complication(0.909),Body mass index(0.350),difficult airway(0.312)andOSA condition classification(0.214).And they were all positive correlation.Conclusion:1.After general anesthesia postoperatively in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome is relatively appropriate recovery time should be in more than two hours.2.Post-operative complication,Body mass index, difficult airwayandOSA condition classification are important factors that make an effect on the LOS of OSA patients in PACU.3.In order to reduce the incidence of postoperative complications,we should pay attention to the preoperative assessmentof obese or suspected OSA patient, and try our best to manage the preoperative preparation.4.The observation point of anesthesia recovery period are drawing tube in patients with indications of assessment and maintain effective ventilation function after extubation, discover the condition changes, such as breathing, circulation system, complications, and postoperative agitation, cooperate with anesthesiologist in view of the specific conditions in root cause analysis and the corresponding processing.
