Comparison Of Effects Of Absorbable Stick And Mini-plate For The Treatment Of Oblique Metacarpal Fractures

Objective:To assess the clinical results of metacarpal fracture fixation by mini-plates and absorbable rods.Methods:A total of 80 patients with metacarpal oblique fractures were assigned to absorbable rod fixation group(31 fracture in 29 cases)and mini-plate fixation group(64 fractures and in 51cases).All cases were closed with oblique fracture of metacarpal bone,no obvious surgery taboos excluded pathologic fractures and inflammation,infection or allergic to implant patients.All patients were under brachial plexus anesthesia and hemostasis.The micro plate and the absorbable rod were used in the treatment of internal fixation respectively.The fracture end of the operation was required to achieve anatomic reduction,and was satisfactory after the observation of C arm,then rinse the wound and suture incision by layer.During the operation,attention to protect tendon week,reduce postoperative tendon adhesion,postoperative follow-up time was 1-12 months(average 6.5 month).We adopt the American Manual Surgical Association Score(TAFS)standard for evaluating the functional restoration of the operation.Record the finger joints and finger joints activity,the data obtained from the two sets of records using SPSS19.0 software for statistical analysis and processing,measuring data to take t test,counting data to take χ2 test.Results:All fractures were achieved with bone healing.After the operation did not appear loose fixation,infection and skin allergies,etc.,the two groups were not included in the case of metacarpal fracture delayed healing or non-healing situation.According to the American Association of Hand Surgery Association,51 cases(64 cases)of fine steel plate were excellent in fracture,excellent in 31,good in 25,poor in 8,excellent and good rate was 87.5%;Absorbable group of 29 cases(31 cases)in the fracture,excellent in 19,good in 11,poor in 1,excellent rate of 96.7%.There was no significant difference between the two groups(P> 0.05).Conclusion:Absorbable rod fixation strength can meet the requirements of surgical treatment,treatment of metacarpal oblique fractures easy to operate simple,no foreign body sensation and stress occlusion,to avoid re-operation,no image interference,good tissue compatibility.It’s an ideal and effective treatment.
