Background:The current chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a serious threat to human life safety of the fifth cause of death, high prevalence, low treatment rate, with a high degree of disability and mortality. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is characterized by limited airflow and can be prevented and treated with inflammation.Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a systemic multi-factor disease, pulmonary function alone in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease disease severity and prognosis of a great deal of limitations, can not fully respond to the patient’s situation,it is necessary to evaluate the comprehensive indicators The impact of the disease on the patient’s health. Erythrocyte morphology not only reflects the blood system diseases, but also reflects the body’s chronic inflammatory state, systemic nutritional status, and ineffective erythropoiesis.Erythrocyte distribution width(RDW)is an objective indicator of red blood cell morphological changes. BODE index combined with clinical symptoms, nutritional status, exercise capacity and lung function of the relevant parameters, can be a comprehensive evaluation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in patients with severity and suggest the prognosis of information. Objectives: To investigate the relationship between the red blood cell distribution width and the BODE index and the severity of the disease in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Methods: 1 Object selection: The medical records of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease who were treated at the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University from December 2015 to December 2016 were retrospectively studied.2 Index analysis: Records and statistics of their demographic characteristics, including gender,GOLD rating, smoking, comorbidities and BODE index.Statistical analysis of red blood cell distribution width and GOLD classification, functional parameters, demographic parameters such as the correlation.Comparison of the general situation of patients with different levels of RDW.3 Statistical analysis: Statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS 19.0 software package. The Kolmogorov-Smirov normal test data were used for normal distribution. The data were expressed as mean ± standard deviation((?)± s).T test,multi-group comparison using variance analysis.Count data is expressed as a percentage, using χ~2 test. The correlation between RDW and BODE index was analyzed by Pearson correlation analysis.Factors influencing the BODE index were included in multivariate logistic regression analysis.P <0.05 that the difference or correlation was statistically significant. Results: 1 The subjects were 88% male and 12% female.GOLD was distributed in grade 2,3,smoking or smokers have a greater risk of COPD,64% had cardiogenic disease, diabetes mellitus and other complications. All patients had BODE index of 0 ~ 10;2 The RDW difference of patients of GOLD grade 1 to 4 was statistically significant(F=4.773,P=0.04),RDW gradually increases as the GOLD rating increases;3 FEV1,% FEV1,FVC,FVC%,FEV1 / FVC,PEF,% FEF 25/75,start smoking time,BMI,6MWT,oxygen saturation,BODE index of the two group were significantly different(P<0.05);Compared with patients with REW ≤ 14.3,the age of the patients with RDW> 14.3,the BODE index increased significantly(P<0.05);FEV1,% FEV1,FVC,FVC%,FEV1 / FVC,PEF,% FEF 25/75,start smoking time,BMI,6MWT,oxygen saturation significantly decreased(P<0.05); 4 RDW was positively correlated with age,BODE index and GOLD grade(P<0.05);There was a significant negative correlation between RDW and 6MWT,% FEV1,FVC%,FEV1 / FVC,PEF%,% FEF 25/75,oxygen saturation and BMI(P<0.05).Conclusions: 1 Male, smokers, with heart disease, diabetes and other complications,BODE index in 0 to 10 people more susceptible to COPD;2 RDW gradually increases as the GOLD2、3 rating increases;3 Age,FEV1,% FEV1,FVC,FVC%,FEV1 / FVC,PEF,% FEF 25/75,start smoking time,BMI,6MWT,oxygen saturation,BODE index can affect RDW size;4 RDW was significantly positively correlated with age,BODE index and GOLD grade. There was a significant negative correlation between 6MWT,% FEV1,FVC%,FEV1 / FVC,PEF%,% FEF 25/75,oxygen saturation and BMI.
