Objective: To investigate whether it’s necessary to use filter breathing(BF)in patients with noninvasive mechanical ventilation, and to provide reference for clinical use.Methods:(1)30 cases of noninvasive mechanical ventilation patients were involved. After the BF were used for 24 hours or 48 hours, bacterial culture sample was collected on both sides of the filter membrane to evaluate the filtration effect.(2)450 cases of noninvasive mechanical ventilation patients were randomly divided into group A(using BF and replaced every 24 hours),group B(non BF used),and group C(using BF and replaced every 48 hours).Three groups of patients were compared with ICU stay time, noninvasive mechanical ventilation time, the infection rate of hospital acquired pneumonia, and prognosis of the disease. Results: There is no significant difference between the ventilator side(P=0.4795)and the patient side(P=0.4795)of the filter membrane after BF used 24 hours or 48 hours. And there was still no significant difference among the ICU stay time(P=0.1134),noninvasive mechanical ventilation time(P=0.5988),the infection rate of HAP(P=0.8580)and the prognosis of the disease(P=0.0796)of three groups.Conclusions:(1)After used for 48 hours,BF still has good bacteria filtration function;(2)There is no need to use BF in patients with noninvasive ventilation since it couldn’t reduce the ICU stay time, noninvasive mechanical ventilation time, the infection rate of HAP and ameliorate the prognosis of the disease.
