Association Between Cerebral Small Vessel Diseases And Microalbuminuria In Elderly Patients

Objective1.To determine the correlation between the lacunar infarction and / or lacune of presumed vascularorigin(LI)and microalbuminuria(MAU)in elderly patients over70 years old.2.To investigate the correlation between the white-matter hyperintensity(WMH)and microalbuminuria(MAU)in elderly patients over 70 years old.Methods All the patients enrolled in this study were from Guangzhou first municipal people’s hospital department of geriatrics of hospitalized elderly patients aged over than 70 years between January 2014 and December 2014.A total of 237 cases(184males and 53 females)aged 70 to 94 years(83.9270 to 94 ye)were recruited.Medical information including age,gender,cigarette smoking,drinking habit,systolic blood pressure,medical history of hypertension,diabetes,coronary heart disease and non-valve atrial fibrillation were collected,and laboratory measurements were recorded including hematochrome(Hb),fasting blood glucose(FBS),urea nitrogen(BUN),creatinine(Cr),uric acid(UA),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),apolipoprotein(APOA),high density lipoprotein(HDL-C),low density lipoprotein(LDL-C),hypersensitivity C reactive protein(hs CRP),urinary microalbumin(MUA)and the result of carotid artery ultrasonography and cerebral MRI.(1)The patients were grouped into with or without lacunar infarction group by the change of MRI.(2)The patients were divided to WMH low score group and WMH high score group by the change of MRI and Fazekas scale score.All analyses were conducted by SPSS16.0software.Results1.The results based on the lacunar infarction(1)The patients with lacunar infarction had higher mean systolic blood pressure was higher compared with patients without lacunar infarction,and the prevalence of lacunar infarction and median of ACR were higher in the group with lacunar infarction.(2)The Logistic regression analysis indicated that increased systolic blood pressure,MA and MUA were independently risk factors for lacunar infarction,which were also significantly associated with the severity of lacunar infarction.2.The results based on the severity of WMH(1)The patients in WMH high score group had higher systolic blood pressure than that in WMH low score group,and prevalence of MA and median of MUA were higher in WMH low score group.(2)The Logistic regression analysis indicated that systolic blood pressure,MAU and MUA were independently risk factors for WMH,which were also significantly associated with the severity of WMH.Conclusion1.Microalbuminuria was significantly associated with lacunar infarction。2.Microalbuminuria had a significantly relationship with the severity of white-matterhyperintensity。3.Age,hypertension,microalbuminuria and carotid artery atherosclerosis were risk factors for cerebral small vessel diseases。...
