Objective:By combining the glucosamine with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and central muscle relaxants used in the treatment of discogenic low back pain, and comparing the curative effect on the simple application of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and central muscle relaxants,we explored the safety and the effectiveness of glucosamine used in the treatment of discogenic low back pain,in order to help clinicians, use the corresponding therapy to improve the prognosis of patients. Methods:We selected 76 discogenic low back pain patients who visit the outpatient department of orthopedics of Ju Nan County People’s Hospital during December 2015-July 2016.They were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, and each group has no significant differences in age and gender. We gave the experimental group oral glucosamine hydrochloride,non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and Etodolac Capsules central muscle relaxants eperisone hydrochloride three drugs, and gave the control group oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and Etodolac Capsules central muscle relaxant eperisone hydrochloride and the treatment in the two groups were treated for.We selected 3 time points---the start time,12 weeks after the treatment and 16 weeks after the treatment.According to score of low back pain curative effect of the Japan Association for Department of orthopedics(JOA),segmental bone mineral density lumbar activity changes, and Concentration of interleukin 6(IL-6)in venous blood we collected the data, and then we analyzed and evaluated the collected results. We also recorded the Patients’ adverse reactions during the treatment.Results:1.Through the research on the two groups of patients,we found that after starting the treatment for 12 weeks and 16 weeks, the patients in the experimental group changed significantly in related vertebral segments according to Japan Association for Department of orthopedics(JOA)lumbago curative effect score, bone density of spinal segments, lumbar activity and blood interleukin-6(IL-6).The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05)2.We found that at 12 weeks and 16 weeks after treatment the data of the experimental group were obviously better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).3.The results of the experimental group at 16 weeks were obviously better than those in the same group at 12 weeks, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).4.The main adverse reactions in the two groups were gastrointestinal reactions, and no special treatment occurred. The number of cases was four. Conclusion: 1.when we put the combined application of glucosamine in the treatment of discogenic low back pain,we found that the treatment effect is better than the simple application of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and central muscle relaxant, and it remained effective after withdrawal.2.Glucosamine can reduce the levels of interleukin-6 in patients.3.At the same time, the researchers found that the use of glucosamine did not increase the incidence of adverse events in patients and was safe.4.The bone density of experimental group patients in this study were significantly increased, but because there are still many other factors which can also affect the bone mineral density. In this study,we failed to eliminate and analyze other factors that affect bone mineral density changes, which may lead to inaccurate results. Therefore, the effect of glucosamine on bone mineral density remains to be seen and needs further studies in subsequent studies...
