“Studies of Shang Han medications” was written by the Japanese Physician Chuanyue Zhengzhou which summarized his theory achievement of “Treatise on Febrile Diseases”.However,this book has been rarely researched or even mentioned in our country.The reason why we studied the academic thought of this book is to fill the vacancy in the field of Japanese Kampō medicine research in our country and promote its further development.“Studies of Shang Han medications” had distinct features of Japanese Kampō medicine which paid more attention to solid evidence.For example,the description of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)’s characters in this book is concise and to the point.Besides,it studied the origin of pulses and symptoms,blood and Qi.It also explored the method how to distinguish different diseases for better treatment.Its comprehension of Qi was unique which divided Qi into primordial Qi and essential Qi.The author even developed a unique voice in the relationship of healthy Qi and pathogenic Qi.Moreover,the author explained the “excess and deficiency” quoting a sentence “excess is yang and deficiency is yin” from Shao-yang Jing and he summarized the main prescriptions and drugs in the system of the six meridians.In the second volume,the author descripted the character,function,relevant prescriptions and sites of actions of different traditional medicines in detail.“Studies of Shang Han medications” has a distinct features of Japanese Kampō medicine.The author expressed his original insights into TCM in several aspects such as Yin Yang,Qi Blood,Zheng Evil,heat cold,deficiency excess et al and summarized the theory of TCM using a concise language.His theory was mostly coincided with “the formula-syndrome correspondence” which reflected the author’s wisdom. |
