| ObjectiveTo investigate the illness uncertainty state of family members of postoperative chemotherapy of patients with breast cancer and analyze the influencing factors,study on the correlation between illness uncertainty state of family members and state anxiety,coping style,social support,to provide theoretical basis for reducing uncertainty in illness.MethodBy using convenience sampling method,350 family members of postoperative chemotherapy of patients with breast cancer who were in breast surgery of three third class A hospitals in Kaifeng and Zhengzhou were selected from September 2015 to March 2016.The General Information Questionnaire,Mishel Uncertainty In Illness Scale-Family Member Form(MUIS-FM),Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire(SCSQ),State Anxiety Inventory(S-AI)and Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS)was used to investigate uncertainty in illness of family members of patients with breast cancer.The data were analyzed by using Statistical Package for Social Science(SPSS)17.0 software.Demographics data was analyzed by percentage and frequency.Univariate analysis was performed by single factor variance and Independent-Samples t Test.The related factors were analyzed by the Pearson correlation analysis.The multivariate analysis was adopted by multiple regression analysis,difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Results1 The status of the illness uncertainty state of family members of postoperative chemotherapy ofpatients with breast cancerThe total score of uncertainty in illness ranged from 53 to 108 with an average score of(71.91±8.15).The score of ambiguity was(31.71±4.72),the score of lack of clarity was(20.01±3.95),the score of lack of information was(11.09±2.44),the score of unpredictability was(9.11±2.01).2 The status of coping style,state anxiety,social supportThe score of positive coping style was(20.66±5.75),the score of negative coping style was(12.73±4.02),the score of state anxiety was(48.43±8.95),total score of social support was(32.41±5.43),the score of subjective support was(19.09±4.55),the score of objective support was(8.02±1.90),the score of using-support degree was(5.30±2.02).3 The Univariate analysis of the illness uncertainty state of family members of postoperative chemotherapy of patients with breast cancerIn the Univariate analysis,the total score of the illness uncertainty state of family members and the score of ambiguity and lack of clarity had statistically significant difference in different literacy(P<0.05).The total score of the illness uncertainty state of family members and the score of lack of clarity and lack of information had statistically significant difference in different family income(P<0.05).The total score of the illness uncertainty state of family members had statistically significant difference in different home addresses(P<0.05).The total score of the illness uncertainty state of family members and the score of lack of clarity had statistically significant difference in different relationships with patients(P<0.05).Total score of the illness uncertainty state of family members and the score of ambiguity had statistically significant difference in different chemotherapy times(P<0.05).The total score of the illness uncertainty state of family members and the score of ambiguity and lack of clarity had statistically significant difference in different kinds of side-effects of chemotherapy(P<0.05).4 The relationship between illness uncertainty state of family members and state anxiety,coping style,social supportThe analysis results showed that there was a significant negative correlation between total score of the illness uncertainty state of family members and positive coping style except the dimension of unpredictability(r=-0.465,P<0.01),there was a significant positive correlation between the total score of the illness uncertainty state of family members and negative coping style(r=0.115,P<0.05).There existed a positive correlation between the total score of the illness uncertainty state of family members and the score of state anxiety except the dimension of unpredictability(r=0.550,P<0.01).There was a significant negative correlation between the total score of the illness uncertainty state of family members and the score of social support(r=-0.333,P<0.01).5 The multiple linear regression analysis of the illness uncertainty state of family members of postoperative chemotherapy of patients with breast cancerIn the final linear regression equation,the factors that effected the illness uncertainty state of family members were state anxiety,positive coping style,subjective support,kinds of side-effects of chemotherapy,literacy.Conclusions1 Family members of postoperative chemotherapy of patients with breast cancer have high level illness uncertainty.Effecting the illness uncertainty state of family members has many factors,including state anxiety,positive coping style,subjective support,kinds of side-effects of chemotherapy,literacy.2 The total score of the illness uncertainty state of family members and the score of state anxiety exist a positive correlation.The total score of the illness uncertainty state of family members and positive coping style exist a significant negative correlation.The total score of the illness uncertainty state of familymembers and social support exist a negative correlation.Therefore,medical staffs should encourage family members to take positive coping style,use multi-dimensional social support,reduce the anxiety,decrease the negative impact of illness uncertainty. |
