| Pulmonary embolism(PE)is a clinical and pathophysiological syndrome that refers to pulmonary circulation and right heart dysfunction,which is led by the embolus originated form venous system or right heart.We should consider paradoxical embolism when the venous system and arterial system have embolism at the same time.Paradoxical embolism(PDE),which is easy to be missed or misdiagnosed,refers to clinical phenomenon of embolus originated in venous vasculature or right atrium and traversed through a right to left shunt into the systemic circulation.Not all paradoxical embolism patients are able to be found a right to left shunt.To improve the comprehensive identification of paradoxical embolism and provide a reference for clinical work in future,one case of paradoxical embolism was reported,which included analyzing relative literature at home and abroad,summarizing the clinical characteristics,anatomic structures,auxiliary examinations,treatment and prognosis. |
