Objective:To research the effect of different gender and age groups on the T2* value of normal left ventricular segments.Methods:35 subjects with normal heart were enrolled in the study, included 20 males and 15 females, which were divided into young group(≤44,n=10),middle-aged group(45~59,n=15)and the elderly group(over 60 years old,n=10).The T2* values of the 16 segments of the left ventricle were measured by 3.0T CMR 8 echoes T2*WI sequence. The differences between different gender and age groups were compared by using Independent sample t test and one-way ANOVA.Results:The T2 star value of the left ventricular anterior basal segment(2segments)(28.23±3.51ms)of the male group is lower than the female group(32.79±6.44ms),the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the T2*value of the left ventricular apical segment(13 segments)of normal young people(34.02±5.89ms)was higher than that of normal middle-aged subjects(27.62±4.18ms),and higher than the normal elderly(27.34±4.79ms),the differences were both statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions: There was a gender difference in T2 star values of the normal left ventricular basal anteroseptal(2 segments)measured in this study, and the anterior wall of left ventricular apex(13 segments)in the normal young people, the elderly;the rest of the myocardial segments T2* value had no significant difference in gender and age. Objective:To investigate the diagnostic value of T2* weighted imaging in myocardial lesions of the subclinical type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: 22 cases were collected in our hospital clinical diagnosis of subclinical stage in patients with type 2 diabetes, including 12 males,10 females, mean age 48±2.5 years(age range 47-60 years),the first part included 15 middle-aged healthy subjects as normal control group, there were8 males and 7 females, the average age of 50±3.5 years(age range 46-58years).All subjects underwent routine scan and cardiac T2* weighted scan; The left ventricular cardiac function indexes(LVMI,EDVI,ESVI,SVI,CI,MVR,PFR,PER)and the T2* values of the 16 segments of the left ventricle, and the correlation between the parameters of left ventricular function and analysis, the correlation between the T2* value and left ventricular function parameters was analyzed. Results:The T2* value of the left ventricular inferoseptal basal segment(3 segments)in subclinical type 2 diabetes mellitus group was lower than the normal control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The LVMI,EDVI,ESVI and PER between the subclinical type 2 diabetes mellitus group and the control group was no statistically significant(P<0.05),the SVI,CI,EF and PFR of type 2 diabetes mellitus group were lower than the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),the MVR of type 2 diabetes mellitus group was higher than thecontrol group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no correlation between the T2* value of the left ventricular basal segment and the cardiac function index of the left ventricular(P<0.05).Conclusions: The T2* value of the left ventricular inferoseptal basal segment(3 segments)in subclinical type 2 diabetes mellitus reduced, while reduced left ventricular diastolic function, left ventricular systolic function did not changes significantly. It is suggested that the cardiac function of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus is mainly due to impaired diastolic function.
