Serum Levels Of Perfluorooctane Sulfonate Acid And Perfluorooctanoic Acid In Pregnant Women

Objective To investigate serum levels of perfluorooctane sulfonate acid(PFOS)and perfluorooctanoic acid(PFOA)in pregnant women in one city,and give supports to explore the relative factors with serum levels of perfluorooctane sulfonate acid(PFOS)and perfluorooctanoic acid(PFOA)in pregnant women.Methods Serum samples of 217 pregnant women were collected during the early or mid pregnant stage.PFOS and PFOA were extracted from serum by liquid-liquid extraction,and the concentration of PFOS and PFOA in serum were measured by Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography and tandem mass spectrometry(UPLC-MS/MS).Appropriate statistical methods were chose according to the type of data,and distributions of the level of PFOS and PFOA in serum of pregnant women in different age,nationality,residential areas,residence time,education levels,gravidity,number of children.Results The research results showed that,the median of PFOS and PFOA level was 2.854 ng/mL(N=187)and 7.966 ng/mL(N=201)in serum of the first or second trimester pregnant women from the research district,two substances single detection rate were 86.18%,92.63%,double the detection rate was 80.18%,the content of PFOS was positively related with PFOA content in serum of pregnant women(γ=0.305).The distribution of PFOS content in serum was different in different age groups of pregnant women.And the distribution of PFOA content in serum of pregnant women was different with different residence time,the number of children.Conclusion It shows that PFOS level in serum of pregnant women from our research district is much lower,and the PFOA level is much higher,compared with some areas at home and abroad.Age is a factor affecting the PFOS load level of pregnant women’s serum;residence time and the number of children,there are several factors that affect the PFOA load level of pregnant women’s serum.
