Objective :To describe the prevalence of mental disorders of Dulong people and its distribution, correlates in Dulong River area.Methods: The investigate of mental health in dulong people : The Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV-TR was used as principal tools .in the period form November 2015 to August 2016,with the method of cluster sampling, 1485 individuals from the age 18 to 65 whose parents is Dulong people as the entire sample to interviewed in this study.Results:l .The weighted lifetime prevalence rates of overall mental disorders were 6.60%,(95%CI:5.25%-7.81%) for mood disorders,5.19%(4.08%-6.46%) for substance abuse,2.63%(1.82%-3.50%) for anxiety disorders,(0.94%,0.54%-1.48%) for psychotic disorder,(0.27%,0.07%-0.53%) for Acute stress disorder,0.07%(0.00%-0.20%) for somatoform disorder and 9.43% (7.81%-10.84%) for any disorders.2.The risk factors of mental disorders were as the following:(1)Being female and divorced/separated were correlated to mood disorders and anxiety disorders.(2)Being remarried was correlated to Acute stress disorder.(3)Being self-employed/temporary worker was correlated to substance abuse/dependent,while being a Christian was protective factor.3.The lifetime prevalence of suicide ideation,plans and attempts were 6.33%,1.68% and 2.16%,respectively.At all age groups,the highest prevalence of suicide ideation is 26 to 35(2.02%),the highest prevalence of suicide plans is 18 to 25(0.67%),the highest prevalence of suicide attempt is 26 to 35(0.94%).Being female,divorced/separated and widowed were correlated to all suicide phenomena.Their education is generally in the low level,so the correlation with educational level was non-significant.Believe in Christianity or not is irrelevant to their suicide.When suicides were a men,drinkers is 8.7 times higher than non-drinkers,but their suicidal reason still needs further data research.About 56.25 percent of suicides suffered from mood disorders.Conclusion:The following problems are most conspicous in this study,mental disorders,substance use disorders, especially alcohol abuse in dulong people. To promote mental health knowledge and native healers’ diagnosis and therapy technology is very necessary. Suicide problem is very common in dulong people, specifically by taking Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii, consequently, it is necessary to reduce the holdings of Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii. Family conflict is the main reason of female suicide, A positive marriage view and a good psychological counseling is essential to those female. To increase investment of mental health service must be a effective preventivestrategies for dulong people.
