Objective: To provide theoretical basis for improving the quality of hospital infection management by exploring the current situation of hospital infection management and analyzing the existing problems in medical institutions in Ganzhou.Methods: A cross-sectional investigation was conducted to collect the information about hospital infection management in 10 tertiary hospitals,47 county hospitals and 22 township central hospitals in Ganzhou with a self-designed questionnaire.SPSS22.0 software was used for statistical analysis after organizing and checking the data.Results: A total of 79 hospitals were investigated.Of the 79 hospitals,81% establshed the hospital infection management committees,65.8% set up the departments of hospital infection management,55.7% were staffed with a full-time hospital infection management specialists.48.1%~74.7% established the hospital management system.74.7% established aseptic technique system,of which the situation was the best.48.1% established the hospital infection knowledge train ing system,of which the situation was the worst.There were 76 professional personnel among 162 hospital infection managerial staff in which the workers who had a short working life,low education,primary title and nursing major were dominant.Of the workers,42% had a short working life,75.3% poorly educated,89.5% were low title personal and 63% majored in nursing.The proportion of continuing education and training on hospital infection management was from 49.4% to 73.4%.The proportion of training of preventing the multi drug resistant bacteria infection was the highest,which accounted for 73.4%.The proportion of germ-free and disinfectant training was the lowest,which accounted for 49.4%.The proportion of hospital infection monitoring ranged from 21.5% to 54.4%.The monitoring rate of bacterial resistance was the lowest,which accounted for 21.5% and the the nosocomial infection surveillance rate was the highest in the key departments,which accounted for 54.4%.The proportion of hand hygiene supervision of standard precautions for medical personnel was up to 82.3%.The situation of training the medical personnel to use personal protective equipment(accounting for 46.8%),the reporting system of needle stab and sharp injury in hospital(accounting for 54.4%)and the implement of cleaning and disinfecting infected environment and respiratory equipment(accounting for 41.8%)were done badly.62.0% of the hospitals established specialized departments which was responsible for medical waste management.Overall,the tertiary hospitals were more better than the secondary ones in hospital infection management,and the secondary hospitals were better than the primary ones.Conclusion: Firstly,the hospital infection management organization system of medical institutions was basically perfect.Secondly,the hospital infection management system had some deficiencies in the training of hospital infection knowledge.Thirdly,The structure of the hospital management team was not reasonable in terms of working age,educational background,professional title and specialty.Forthly,Continuing education and training of hospital infection management on aseptic technic and disinfection for medical staff needed to be strengthened.Fifthly,the hospital infection monitoring on the implementation of bacterial resistance was not strict enough.Sixthly,the situation of training the medical personnel to use personal protective equipment,the reporting system of needle stab and sharp injury in hospital and the implement of cleaning and disinfecting infected environment and respiratory equipment needed to be further improved.Seventhly,it is necessary to be standardized in regulating the classified management of medical waste management,carrying out the training of medical waste management for medical personnel,conducting spot checks on medical waste management of medical personnel and implementing the centralized disposal of medical waste in primary and secondary-care hospitals.Eighthly,the higher the hospital level,the higher the quality of hospital infection management.Lastly,the investment was not enough in hospital infection management of medical institutions,such as manpower,capital and materials.The special policies piblished by health administrative departments we re fewer to strengthen the management of hospital infection management,which was not paid enough attention to by the leadership in the hospitals.There was a lack of personnel engaged in hospital infection management in primary hospitals.The training for the personnel was insufficient.The reporting system in medical institutions and health administrative departments and CDC was not standardized.
