Objective:To explore the relationship between serumsex hormone levels of breast cancer and thyroid neoplasms and its clinical significance.Methods:Collectinga total of 60 patients with newly diagnosed breast cancer and who had been detected by thyroid color doppler ultrasound were collected from the Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from November 2013 to November 2016,as group breast cancer with thyroid tumor.another60 patients with newly diagnosed simple breast cancer who were matched with age,body mass index,menstrual status,menarche age and gestational number were collected as group simple breast cancer,all patients in this group had no thyroid tumor before the follow-up date by color doppler ultrasonography.A retrospective analysis of the levels of estrogen(E2),progesterone(P),prolactin(PRL),follicle stimulating hormone(FSH),luteinizing hormone(LH)and testosterone(T)were measured by chemiluminescence in the two groups before initial treatment.Thyroid tumors were examined by color doppler ultrasonography,according to the size of thyroid tumor,single or multiple and malignant signs,the relationship between sex hormone levels and clinical features of thyroid tumors(size,solitary or multiple,and malignant signs)was compared.Statistical analysis using t test and nonparametric rank sum test.Results:The results of sex hormone levels in patients with breast cancer complicated with thyroid tumor and simple breast cancer were as follows: The median level of E2 in breast cancer with thyroid neoplasms was higher than that in simple breast cancer group,the difference was statistically significant(P =0.03).The level of PRL in breast cancer with thyroid tumor group was lower than that in simple breast cancer group,the difference was statistically significant(P = 0.001).There was no significant difference in serum P,FSH,LH and Tlevels between the two groups(the P value were 0.109,0.337,0.295 and0.104respectively).There was no significant difference in the levels of E2 and PRL between the two groups in the size of thyroid tumor(whether it was greater than 1cm),single or multiple,and malignant signs.Conclusions:1.Compared with patients with simple breast cancer,serum E2 levels increased and PRL levels decreased in patients with breast cancer complicated with thyroid tumor,it is suggested that the changes of E2 and PRL levels may be related to the occurrence of thyroid tumors.2.There is no correlation between the levels of serum E2 and PRL and thyroid tumor size,single or multiple and whether there is suspicious malignancy in the breast cancer complicated with thyroid tumors.
