ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to analyze the current situation of acupuncture treatment of vascular dementia(VD),the rules of acupoint selection, the results of factor analysis under different analysis methods, and the similarities and differences of cluster analysis under different measurement standards. The results are compared,in order to provide a reference for this type of data analysis.MethodsFirst of all, determine the key words, search the articles which using acupuncture as the therapeutic method for vascular dementia in the data base like CNKI,VIP,CBM,etc.Develop data information collection table, and organize the data into Excel 2010.Analysis the frequency of point, classified and summarized the situation of meridian, distribution, special acupoints and non-specific acupoints.Factor analysis and cluster analysis were performed using software SPSS 21.0 for the remaining 39 points after the first factor analysis.Results1.bibliometric analysis resultsThe collected 315 articles analysis shows that the two main institutions of authors are universities and hospitals, the hospital is topped, high up to 245 times, followed by the school,54 times. The distribution of the authors are in 27 provinces and cities, the number of papers published which more than 25 is Guangdong,Heilongjiang,Tianjin, the three regions a total of 121 papers, accounted for 38.4%of the total number of documents issued. There are 92 articles have the fund to support. The periodical named Journal of clinical acupuncture, published 34 papers, accounted for 10.8%of the total, followed by the periodical named Shanghai Journal of acupuncture and moxibustion, published 24 articles, accounting for a total of 7.6%.2.The results of the acupoint selection regularity in acupuncture treatment of VDBy the analysis of acupuncture points, found that the acupoints which belong to the head part get the highest frequency.Analysis the results of the twelve meridians and the eight meridians distribution,Du meridian point is the highest frequency been used.In the treatment of VD,the specific acupoints of the total frequency of 2610 times, accounting for 98.64%.In the ten classification, the highest frequency being used is the convergent acupoint, for 760 times, ranking first. The first time factor analysis get 14 common factors, after eliminating invalid variables, doing the factor analysis second time, selected 12 factors,Cluster analysis get 12 clustering clusters, and 15 closely related pairs were obtained.Comparison of cluster analysis of 12 categories and factor analysis of the 12 common factors, found that there are seven groups of points matching match, the matching rate is 58.3%.Using seven different methods doing the factor analysis, can get 12 common factors, but non of this sesults are the same, and more than half methods are able to get the same points in one common factors.Using the eight measurement standards of cluster analysis to analyze the acupoint data, compare the results found that six measurement standards has the same result, and the other two results were inconsistent.ConclusionAccording to the common factor and the results of cluster analysis, point selection in acupuncture treatment of vascular dementia with the dialectical therapy, follow the selection principle of acupoint and acupoint method.Using the main and collateral channels which has the functions that can relaxing tendons, xingnaokaiqiao and promoting qi to activate blood,Analysis the properties of acupoints, the selection of acupuncture point in VD,mostly the acupoints has the founction of restoring consciousness and easing mental stress, nourshing liver and kidney, invigorating splenic yang and inducing resuscitation.
