Objective:The aim of this study is to assess the level of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 in adult patients with bronchial asthma. To study whether vitamin D status is associated with the severity of asthma. This study seeks to explore the relationship between serum interleukin-17 and serum 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 in adult asthmatic patients. In order to explore their significance in the pathogenesis of bronchial asthma. Methods:Our study included 61 cases of asthmatic patients who were admitted to Fuzhou General Hospital of Nanjing Military Region in October 2015 and October 2017 were selected as the experimental group, all of whom met the inclusion and exclusion criteria.Asthma patients were divided into two groups:asthma acute attack group(36 individuals)and asthma clinical remission group(25 individuals).Meanwhile,25 healthy people from our hospital physical examination center were selected as the healthy control group. The serum concentrations of 1,25(OH)2D3 and IL-17 were detected in all individuals. The levels of 1,25(OH)2D3 and IL-17 in asthma acute attack group, the asthma clinical remission group and the healthy control group were compared.According to the severity of acute exacerbation of asthma, the patients were divided into mild group(n=8),moderate group(n=13)and severe group(n=15).The levels of 1,25(OH)2D3 were compared among the three groups.Results:(1)The mean serum concentrations of 1,25(OH)2D3(15.08±7.53)ng/ml in asthma acute attack group were significantly lower than those in asthma clinical remission group(27.13±8.49)ng/ml(P<0.01).The serum concentration of 1,25(OH)2D3 in asthma clinical remission group was lower than that in healthy control group(30.30±10.31)ng/ml,but not statistically significant(P>0.05).(2)The concentrations of 1,25(OH)2D3 in mild group, moderate group and severe group were(22.10±7.98)ng/ml,(17.77±5.48)ng/ml,(9.01±3.11)ng/ml,there were no statistically different between the mild group and the moderate group(P>0.05).There were statistical different between mild group and severe group, moderate group and severe group(P<0.05).(3)The serum IL-17 concentration(98.24±12.54)pg/ml in asthma acute attack exack group was higher than that in asthma clinical remission group(78.51±13.78)pg/ml(P<0.01),and both were higher than healthy control group(62.60±15.67)pg/ml(P<0.01).(4)There was a significant negative correlation between serum 1,25(OH)2D3 and serum IL-17 in asthma acute attack group(r=-0.819,P=0.000).There was a significant correlation between serum 1,25(OH)2D3 and serum IL-17 in the asthma clinical remission group(r=-0.819,P =0.000).Conclusion:(1)The serum 1,25(OH)2D3 levels in adult patients with asthma were significantly lower than healthy people. There was a strong correlation between asthma severity and 1,25(OH)2D3 concentrations.(2)Vitamin D may be related to the acute onset of asthma. The concentration of peripheral blood 1,25(OH)2D3 in asthma acute attack group was significantly lower than healthy control group, which was slightly lower than asthma clinical remission group.(3)IL-17 involved in the pathogenesis of adult asthma as proinflammation factors. The concentration of IL-17 in peripheral blood of patients in asthma acute attack group was higher than healthy control group. The concentration of IL-17 in peripheral blood of patients in asthma clinical remission group was higher than healthy control group.(4)There was a negative correlation between 1,25(OH)2D3 and IL-17,the imbalance of them may participate in the pathogenesis of bronchial asthma.
