PET-CT has achieved functional and anatomical imaging integration in the same machine, and it can accurately provide functional and anatomic information of patients in the same conditions, which is one of the most advanced medical imaging dianostic techniques. It plays an important role especially in the stage of tumor, efficacy evaluation, benign and malignant identification and so on.In the PET-CT examination procedure, the patients are exposed to have radioactive effects to himself as well as his contacts because of the radioactive tracers. At present, the radiopharmaceutical 18F-FDG is the most commonly used for PET-CT scan.In PET-CT imaging, there is a large proportion of patients with esophageal cancer, the radiation dose of the patients and related populations has not been reported at present. In this study,18F-FDG PET-CT imaging was performed in patients with esophageal cancer. The radiation dose of esophageal cancer patients and related personnel were estimated and evaluated in order to provide reference for clinical radiation protection.100 esophageal cancer patients who underwent whole-body PET-CT scanning were selected in the PET-CT center of Henan Cancer Hospital from March 2015 to May 2016,in which 56 were female and aged from 23 to 81 years,(54.7 ± 14.3)years old in average. The enter criterion was that patients are pathologically confirmed and PET-CT showed no metastases, and exclusion criterion was non-pathological diagnosis or PET-CT imaging showed on metastases.100 esophageal cancer patients who underwent whole-body PET-CT scanning were selected. The effective doses of patients were obtained from CT scan by dose-length product,18F-FDG PET scan was calculated based on International Commission on Radiological Protection recommendations. The initial dose-equivalent rate(IDR)was measured with different protection methods.Meanwhile, the radiation doses of the general public and the staff were calculated. The ED of the esophageal cancer patients was(20.87±2.06)mSv,(range:15.2426.94mSv);With different protection strategies, the ED does of family members, same ward patients as well as other families with the same ward were(26.96 183.30)μSv,(11.27 45.39)μSv,(5.66 17.84)μSv respectively.Based on the existing protection strategy by the annual 4500 cases of patients, nurses hand and body dose were8.96 mSv and 0.81mSv;injection nurses hand and body annual dose of 13.46 mSv and0.63 MSv;technician body exposure dose is 0.9mSv per year.In this paper, the radiation does of relevant personnel with different protective strategies in the PET-CT examination is under quantitative analysis and research,in order to provide reference of protection optimization in the clinical practice.
