The Demand On Traditional Chinese Medicine Regimen And Its Countermeasures About Senior Citizeins In Harbin

Research ObjectivesThis project focuses on the demand on the TCM(Traditional Chinese Medicine)regimen of the elderly in Harbin.Through the analysis of literature and field researches,this paper studies the importance attached to maintaining health conditions by the elderly in Harbin,their demand on regimen services,and analyzes the main problems and the causes of them,so that practical and feasible measures,effective countermeasures,and suggestions for the TCM regimen services for the elderly in Harbin can be provided.The questionnaire was collected from 1,600 seniors in five districts of Harbin,which are Xiangfang District,Daoli District,Daowai District,Nangang District,and Pingfang District.The results were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistical analysis.Based on the results of the study,we put forward the theoretical basis and practical reference for decision-making with the TCM regimen policies for the elderly in Harbin.Research ResultsThe elderly's view towards the importance of their health and the demand on TCM regimen is influenced by gender,age,educational background,income,and the place where they live.Woman pay more attention to their own health than man,whereas man are more concerned about TCM health information,and have higher demand on TCM regimen.There are no significant differences in the importance of recognition of health among the elderly in different ages,and the demand on health regimen of many old people in Chinese medicine is significantly higher than that of the elderly aged 90 and over,and yet there is no big difference between the other age groups.The more education and income the elderly get,the higher importance they pay attention to TCM regimen.The aged vary in different administrative areas of the attention to their own health and demand on TCM regimen.There is dependency relationship between the demand on TCM regimen and the attention they pay to their own health.The more attention they pay to their own health,the more demand they have on TCM regimen.Conclusion and ProposalsThe elderly have a high degree of recognition for TCM regimen,but little knowledge about it.There exists several shortcomings within this industry,such as insufficient publicity,the lack of professionals,and that the facilities can not keep up with the needs and other issues.The survey found that the elderly are most concerned with the prices of the regimen services,which is the primary factor affecting the elderly in considering the services.This paper suggest that the relevant departments should increase the publicity of TCM regimen services,improve the construction of the Chinese medicine disciplines,strengthen the training of relevant professionals,and establish specialized TCM regimen facilities,so that we can better meet the needs of the elderly.
