A Retrospective Analysis Of Impact Of Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion On Left Atrium Associated Echocardiogram Parameters In Non-Valvular Atrial Fibrillation Patients

Background:Nowadays atrial fibrillation is one of the most common arrhythmias,and the incidence is still go on with the ageing of population.The left atrial appendage in the pathogenesis of stroke in atrial was implicated.Since 2002 left atrial appendage occlusion(LAAO)was done in humans,a number of studies have implicated its safety and efficacy as a alteration therapy to pharmacological antithrombotic therapy.On the other hand,the function of the left atrial appendage is still a secret.Some experts hold an opinion that it may function as a neuroendocrine organ and a buffer chamber to left atrium.Objective:To study the impact of left atrial appendage to left atrium.Methods and results:This study enrolled 60 non-valvular atrial fibrillation patients from 2014 June to 2017 March,12 paroxysmal,48 persistent,in which 40 underwent LAAO and the other 20 LAAO plus catheter ablation.Preoperative left atrium associated paramaters and follow-up with transthoracic echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography at 1 week,1month,3month,6month,9month,1 year were done.All left atrium associated paramaters(EF%,right ventricular systolic pressure,LA anteroposterior diameter,mitral/aortic valve regurgitation,mitral valve regurgitation area,residual shunt of left atrial appendage occluder)didn’t change.In details,LA anteroposterior diameter was implicated to be related with stroke,CHA2DS2-VASc,HAS BLED(p=0.032,0.013,0.035).Conclusion:In all LAAO patients,left atrium associated paramaters didn’t change.LA anteroposterior diameter may be related with stroke,CHA2DS2-VASc,HAS BLED.
