Objective:To explore the relationship between appendectomy and development of colorectal cancer, and to analyze the risk factors of colon cancer after appendectomy, and provide reference for clinical prevention and treatment of colon cancer. Methods:A total of 2530 cases patients(over 40 years old)who were admitted to Yanbian hospital from January 1996 to January 2006 were selected as the observation group,Another random selection of the same period patients(over 40 years old)who were health examination population of 2643 cases as the control group in the same period in this hospital. All patients were followed up for 10 years, the actual response rate was 97.08%(2456/2530)in the observation group, and the actual response rate in the control group was 94.59%(2500/2643).The general condition of the patient were recorded(such as gender, education level),habits(smoking and drinking history, physical exercise, the number of bowel movements per week etc.),family history of malignancy, and through the logistic regression analysis of risk factors for colon cancer after appendectomy were analyzed.Results:(1)The incidence of colorectal cancer was 3.62%in the observation group and 0.12%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The appendectomy increased the incidence of colorectal cancer.(2)All the follow-up groups were divided into two groups according to the status of sex, alcohol consumption, physical exercise, weekly stool frequency and first grade relatives of malignant tumor. The results showed univariate analysis of colon cancer-related risk factors In addition to smoking factors, other factors colon cancer group was significantly higher than the normal group. The difference was statistically significant(all P<0.05).(3)To analyze the effect of the above-mentioned risk factors of colon cancer on the relationship between appendectomy and colorectal cancer by stratified analysis. The observation group and the control group were divided from sex, drinking history, physical exercise, weekly stool frequency,first-degree relatives Malignant tumor history and other aspects, excluding the impact of the above risk factors,P<0.05 was established, indicating that the effect of appendectomy on the occurrence of colon cancer, not sex, drinking history, physical exercise, weekly stool frequency and first-degree relatives The impact of the history of malignant tumors.(4)The multivariate logistic regression analysis, appendectomy, sex, drinking history, physical exercise, weekly stool frequency and first-degree relatives of malignant tumor history are independent risk factors for colon cancer. Conclusion:The risk of colon cancer was increased within 10 years after appendectomy;appendectomy and sex, alcohol consumption, infrequent exercise, stool frequency<3 times/week or greater than 14 beats/week,and primary relatives had a history of malignancy Is an independent risk factor for colon cancer.
