| Objective To investigate the function of digital smile design in improving patients satisfaction,clinical effect and long-term effect of esthetics rehabilitation of anterior teeth.Methods 64 patients indicated for anterior teeth esthetic restration were selected and divided into observation group and control group(32 patients per group).30 males and34 females,aged between 18 and 47 years old.A total of 172 teeth were repaired.The principle of simple random grouping is divided into two groups during September 2014 to September 2016,in Stomatology Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College in Anhui Province.In the control group crowns were completed by using a traditional method after taking digital photography in color matching.In the observation group,the restorations were designed after digital photosmodified by using effect function in keynote software and analyzed.After having communicated with and approved by the patient,the result of the analysis could guide the fabrication of wax-up by the dental technician.It can also guide the fabrication of silicon rubber template and mock-up by the dentist.The two groups of patients of restoration were made by the same dentist.The IPS e.max Press ceramic hot casting system was used to manufacture porcelain laminate veneers of anterior teeth.After the adhesive restoration,To observe the effect in the long run,patients were required to regular return visit after six months,one year.1 Comparisons of patients satisfaction including restoration shape,color and comfort level were conducted using satisfaction score chart.2 A comparative analysis was taken to examine the clinical indicators of 2 groups according to excellent,good,medium or poor including restoration shape,color matching,anterior teeth curve,the form of marginal gingival and characteristics.3:the porcelain laminate veneers were reviewed after 6 months.The reexamination according to the modified Ryge and USPHS criteria,included restoration shape,restoration integrity,marginal adaptation,comfort level and gingival reaction.The results of two groups were analyzed with statistical methods by SPSS 18.0.Results 2 patients had an objection to the sharp of prosthesis before bonding in the control group.In the observation group,32 patients were not reworked.1 Evaluation of patient satisfaction There was significant difference in restoration shape,comfort level(P<0.01).But there was no significant difference in color matching between two groups(P>0.05).2 Clinical effect There was significant difference in restoration shape,anterior teeth curve and the form of marginal gingival(P<0.05).But there was no significant difference in color and surface characteristics between two groups(P>0.05).3 Long-term effect In the 6-month-reviewed 4 patients in the observation group and 5 in the control group were lost to follow-up.All prosthetic restorations were survived.Observation group was significantly higher in restoration shape,comfort level than control group about A grade(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the integrity of the restoration,marginal adaptation and gingival reaction(P>0.05).Conclusion Digital smile design can improve the communication between the dentist and patient,the dentist and dental technician,the dentist and other dentist.It can also increase the comprehension of patients on the esthetic restoration effect.It can not only significantly improve patients aesthetic satisfaction after restoration but also help to produce both in line with the requirements of patients and clinical aesthetic standards to achieve the restoration.In short,digital smile design is the most effective and convenient technical means in term of aesthetic restoration of anterior teeth. |
