ObjectiveTo study the magnetic resonance imaging and Megnetic Resonance Arthrography findings of frozen shoulder so as to improve the diagnostic accuracy and provide imaging guidance.MethodsFrom November 2014 to July 2016,the patients with shoulder symptoms were selected. The patients who were finally diagnosied with clear MRI images and complete case datas were chosen as our studying objecties.According to the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria,64 cases were selected as PFS group and 64 cases were selected as contrast group. All of the images were individually retrospective analysied by two radiologists to observe and record the joint capsule edema sign, joint capsule thickening sign, rotator cuff interval edema sign, hydrops of capsule under coracoid process sign, coracohumeral ligament edema sign. The detection rate of the signs, the thickness of the capsule and the contrast does were calculated.Statistical analysis were performed on all the datas of both groups and the detection rate of the MRI signs, the thickness of joint capsule and the contrast does were compared to summarize the primary frozen shoulder’s performance in MRI.Results1.In the baseline data, there was no significant difference in gender, year, course of disease and shouder number(P>0.05).2.There was significant difference in contrast does between PFS group and contrast group(P<0.05)and the PFS group were less than that in contrast group.3.The PFS group has a higher detection rate of the joint capsule edema sign(including anterior-superior,anterior-inferior,posterior-inferior,posterior-superior and wide range of edema),joint capsule thickening sign and rotator cuff interval edema sign and there are statistical differences(P<0.05).The PFS group has a thicker capsule than that in contrast group and there are statistical differences(P<0.05).4.There is no statistical difference in the detection rete of hydrops of capsule under coracoid process sign and coracohumeral ligament edema sign(P>0.05).Conclusion1.The joint capsule edema sign, joint capsule thickening sign and rotator cuff interval edema sign may improve the diagnostie accuracy of primary frozen shoulder.Anterior-inferior edema sign and wide range of edema sign are most common in the joint capsule edema sign.2.Hydrops of capsule under coracoid process sign and coracohumeral ligament edema sign have little value in diagnosting primary frozen shoulder. They are inappropriate in diagnosting primary frozen shoulder.3.The volume of the capsule with primary frozen shoulder is less than that in other shoulder diseases.
