Long non-coding RNA(long noncoding RNA,lncRNA)are the RNA with the length of more than 200 nucleotides and do not have the coding ability. They are not the so-called "junk" in the process of transcription. On the contrary, they are important transcripts with controlling functions.Studies have confirmed that IncRNA plays an important role in the regulation of dosage compensation in embryonic development, cell differentiation, signal transduction, apoptosis, gene imprinting and immune response and other physiological or pathological processes.LncRNA is also closely related to the occurrence of a variety of human cancers, development and transfer, and some of the IncRNA have been identified as the biological markers of cancers or drug treatment targets.LncRNA usually interact with specific proteins and plays the corresponding function,so the interaction between the lncRNA and protein is very important to annotate the functions long noncoding RNAs.To this end,we used the annotated lncRNAs and proteins to predict and identify the interactions of lncRNAs and proteins based on IncRNA secondary structure and the function of protein domain information within the scope of the whole genome. Then,we systematically analyzed and filtered these interactions, and built a database HLPID(http://www.megabionet.org/HLPID/)with a friendly interface to store and display the interactions. The user can quickly query lncRNAs or proteins of their concern, and then can acquire interactions between these lncRNAs and proteins. In addition, users can also access the relationship between lncRNAs and diseases, the expression of lncRNAs,variations of lncRNAs and results of survival analysis in different cancers and other detailed information from the database. This subject not only promotes the understanding of the relationship between IncRNA and protein, but also provides support of data and lays a good foundation for the research of IncRNA functions.
