The Investigation Of Water Environment Of The Soochow Classical Gardens

【Objective】To further protect the Soochow Classical Gardens,which is one of the world cultural heritages,and protect human cultural treasures scientifically and effectively,this paper is to provide data support for the relevant departments’ management decisions to the Soochow Classical Gardens,by investigating the present situation of water environment of Soochow Classical Gardens.【 Methods 】 Collect instantaneous water samples according to method in 《 The technical standard for surface water and waste water monitoring》(HJ/T91-2002),test and evaluate water samples according to method in 《The quality standard of surface water environment 》(GB3838-2002).【Results】From the point of overall average values in the survey,the annual average of water temperature was 17.4±2.5 ℃;the Annual average pH value was 7.39±0.19(dimensionless);the annual average of the transparency was 97±3 cm;the annual average of Dissolved oxygen(DO)was 6.50±2.69 mg/L;the annual average of five-day biochemical oxygen demand(BOD5)was 3.6±0.5 mg/L;the annual average of Ammonia nitrogen was 0.738±0.172 mg/L;the annual average of Permanganate index was 3.5±0.3mg/L;the annual average of total phosphorus was 0.456±0.022 mg/L.【Conclusion】The overall trends of water quality situations in the Soochow Gardens is basically stable.For individual badly polluted gardens,some improvement measures should be taken into account while strengthening the management.
