| Objective:Take vestibular evoked myogenic potential(VEMP) examination for normal subjects of different ages, the results were analyzed. Research the relationship between VEMP parameters of the normal population in different ages such as relational threshold, latency, latency—interval, amplitude. To obtain the normal values of vestibular evoked myogenic potential( VEMP)of health population in Tianjin medical university General hospital. Provide the basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment of related diseases. Methods:Research Object: Seventy—five healthy individuals(39 males and 36 females, arrange of 21—70 years, Ave.±SD,48.09±17.26) enrolled in this study. They are healthy check volunteers in March 2014 — December 2015, students and medical staff. These subjects were divided into 3 groups according to age:group1(21—30 years), group2(31—50 years), group3(51—70 years), o VEMP and c VEMP were detected respectively.Research Methods: The Danish international hearing auditory evoked potential(EP25 type) was used to test, sound stimulus emitted by insert earphone. Subjects were sitting, electrodes were placed on the skin, then we start to test. Stimulating sound was received only by the test ear and the muscle of test side must be retained in the best muscle tension during our test. Data were recorded after appearing typical waveform. SPSS19.0 was used to analyze the data.Results:1. Normal values of all ages: The response rate was 77.3% and 85.3%of o VEMP and c VEMP respectively in the 75 subjects. Normal values of o VEMP :Group 1: response rate 100%, N1 latency(10.35 ± 0.49), P1 latency(14.97± 0.56) ms, N1—P1 latency—interval(4.62 ± 0.53) ms, amplitude(8.29 ± 1.25) μV,threshold(83.65 ± 4.10) d Bn HL.Group 2: response rate 85.4%, N1 latency(10.36 ±0.41), P1 latency(14.80 ± 0.66) ms, N1—P1 latency—interval(4.43 ± 0.52) ms,amplitude(6.32 ± 1.21) μV, threshold value(89.24 ± 4.18) d Bn HL.Group 3: response rate 46.0%, N1 latency(10.56 ± 0.57), P1 latency(15.00 ± 0.65) ms, N1 —P1latency—interval(4.42 ± 0.47) ms, amplitude(4.26 ± 1.20) μV, threshold(95.13 ±4.21) d Bn HL. Normal values of c VEMP are as follows: Group 1: response rate 100%,P1 latency(14.12 ± 0.68) ms, N1 latency(24.22 ± 0.67)ms, P1—N1latency—interval(10.10 ± 0.73) ms, amplitude(108.87 ± 19.10) μV, threshold(84.54± 4.35) d Bn HL.Group 2: response rate 83.3%, P1 latency(14.20 ± 0.65) ms, N1latency(24.16 ± 0.64), P1—N1 latency—interval(9.96 ± 0.57) ms, amplitudes(84.10± 20.02) Μv, threshold(90.33 ± 4.29) d Bn HL.Group 3: response rate 72.0%, P1latency(14.18 ± 0.64) ms, N1 latency(24.24 ± 0.60), P1—N1 latency—interval(10.05 ± 0.60) ms, amplitudes(64.18 ± 19.22) Μv, threshold(95.19 ± 4.30) d Bn HL.Due to the limitations of the sample, further research of VEMP value is needed in subjects of younger than 20 years and greater than the 70 years.2. The statistical results show significant difference in o VEMP/c VEMP response rate, response threshold and amplitude among different age — group. With age increasing, the threshold was gradually increased, response rate and amplitude were decreased. No significant difference was found in N1, P1 latency and latency —interval among different age—group. Under the same condition, no significant difference was found in the values between deferent side or gender.Conclusions:1. There is no significant difference in response rate, response threshold and amplitude between o VEMP and c VEMP.2. Age can influence the values of VEMP, but gender and test side can not.3. The best stimulus sound of VEMP was 500 Hz tone brust. We can get higher response rate and amplitude, appropriate latency through this stimulus sound.4. The values of VEMP are different in disease and health.VEMP can be used in a variety of diseases. We know the sick side, the development and prognostic of disease through VEMP. |
