| Objective :This study is matching use powerbreathe K5 breathing training apparatus and breathe-link software to observe effects of the feedback resistance inspiratory muscle training on muscle strength、degree of dyspnea、respiratory complications in patients with spinal cord injury. Methods : thirty-eight patients who underwent spinal cord injury were randomly assigned to an experimental group(N=19) and a control group(N=19). Participants in both groups received routine rehabilitation activities, such as passive joints, limb muscle strength training, balance training, occupational therapy, etc. Participants in the experimental group increased feedback resistance inspiratory muscle training,a total of 30 breathing,2 times a day, five days a weeks,a total of 4 weeks. Outcome measurements included MIP,PIF,degree of dyspnea(modified dyspnea score),MIP and PIF was measured at beginning, after 2 weeks and 4 weeks of treatment. degree of dyspnea was measured at beginning, after 4 weeks of treatment.During the study,Tube bed doctor recorded respiratory complications. Results:Before treatment:the experimental group had 19 patients, including 15 men and 4 women.their average age was 48.32±13.43 years old, average height was169.68±7.41 cm,average weight was 65.37±13.51 Kg and average course of disease was28.1±14.186 days.AISA classification:its included 5 grade A,4 grade B,9 grade C and 1grade D;the control group had 19 patients, including 12 men and 7 women.their average age was 52.16±9.79 years old, average height wwas167.53±6.92 cm,average weight was64.74±8.84 Kg and average course of disease was 26.05±15.261 days. AISA classification:its included 4 grade A, 4 grade B,9 grade C and 2 grade D.After 2 weeks : In the experimental group and control group,it compared with baseline value,MIP were increasedby 14.48±13.93 cm H2O 、 8.661±4.98 cm H2O, PIF were increased by 0.833±0.799L/s 、0.489±0.346L/s. There was significant difference(P<0.05) in the groups, but no significant difference(P > 0.05) between the groups. After 4 weeks:In the experimental group and control group, they compared with baseline value, MIP were increased by30.60±25.43 cm H2O 、 19.04±9.46 cm H2O, PIF were increased by 1.744±0.844 L/s 、1.076±0.594 L/s.There were significant difference(P<0.05) in the groups, but no significant difference(P<0.05) between the groups;degree of dyspnea reduced 1.775±0.835 points and 1.375±0.741 points in the experimental group and control group. There were significant difference(P<0.05) in the group, but no significant difference(P<0.05) between the groups;Incidence of respiratory complications were 5.26% and15.79%,there were no statistically significant difference(P > 0.05) between the groups. Conclusion:The feedback resistance inspiratory muscle training has good curative effect on MIP and PIF in spinal cord injury, but we need further study to research its effect on degree of dyspnea and respiratory complications in spinal cord injury. |
