| Objective To compare the qualitative differences of the Liquid-based DNA image cytometry(the DNA-ICM) technology, the simple liquid-based Papanicolaou staining and Wright’s staining cytologic examination of general smear, in the diagnosis of breast lumps, and to explore the application value of the Liquid-based DNA-ICM technology in the census of breast cancer.Methods The outpatients and inpatients total amount 255 with breast lumps were collected who underwent fine needle aspiration in Shanxian County central hospital from December 2012 to March 2014.All patients were executed DNA-ICM technology, the simple liquid-based Papanicolaou staining and Wright’s staining cytologic examination of general smear,with postoperative pathologic examination as control group. Then the three methods of cytologic examination were compared in the differences of sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of breast lumps.Results The sensitivity of the DNA-ICM technology, the simple liquid-based Papanicolaou staining and Wright’s staining cytologic examination of general smear, respectively was 85.3%, 95.5%, 98.7%.There was statistical significance about the sensitivity between Wright’s staining cytologic examination of general smear and simple liquid-based Papanicolaou staining(P<0.05),and between Wright’s staining cytologic examination and DNA-ICM(P<0.05).The specificity of the DNA-ICM technology, the simple liquid-based Papanicolaou staining and Wright’s staining cytologic examination of general smear, respectively was 82.8%, 99%, 94.9%. There was statistical significance about the specificity between Wright’s staining cytologic examination of general smear and simple liquid-based Papanicolaou staining(P<0.05),and between Wright’s staining cytologic examination and DNA-ICM(P<0.05).Conclusions The cytological examination of the fine needle puncture liquid-based Papanicolaou staining and DNA-ICM technology in the diagnosisof breast lumps have higher sensitivity and specificity than ordinary smear Wright’s staining.Liquid production matching DNA-ICM technology,more objectivity, can be used as screening and preoperative diagnosis method of breast lumps. |
