The health care industry covers the widest range of services, which is closely related to everyone’s life, therefore, every move of the medical industry affects the nerves of the whole society. Because of the uneven distribution of medical resources, the imperfect medical insurance,together with the weak sense of service of medical industry and the information asymmetry between doctors and patients, our doctor-patient relationship become tense in recent years. Meanwhile, the healthcare industry involves a wide range of fields, which is attractive to the public eyes, thus cause serious concern of public media which lives on the subscription and click-throughs. In recent years, cases concerned withmedical industry like "Nanjing Xu baobao", "The eighty cents event in Shenzhen", "The corridor doctor in Sichuan" all cause strong public opinion as soon as they are widely reported by the media, vocal oppositions against the medical industry soon cover various media, which brings the doctor-patient relationship to the freezing point, the image of hospital suffered a serious setback, even the survival of the hospital are threatened.The thesis first illustrates the concept of doctor-patient relationship and doctor-patient disputes, it takes the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University for example and introduces the general approaches to deal with the current medical disputes in hospital; Then it analysis the reasons of media intervention in medical disputes from the perspective of media,it also discuss the positive and negative effects on doctor-patient relationship brought by the media intervention. The author describes how the hospital deals with the media in medical disputes and the existing problems. Through the investigation of mutual trust degree among doctors, patients, and media, the author analysis their respective positions,intentions and interests when medical disputes are reported by the media.The author also makes an in-depth analysis on the problems of hospital when it deals with media in medical disputes; finally, relative countermeasures on how to deal with the media in medical disputes are put forward.The paper analyzes the current situation of how medical disputes are reported by the media from the perspective of communication, it also presents different interests when medical disputes are reported by the media. Then the author gives suggestions on crisis management and how to response to public opinion in the event of medical disputes.
