The development of brain functional detection has made great contribution to brain scientific research. Near-infrared Spectroscopy(NIRS) is particularly suited to the detection of changes in concentrations of oxy- and deoxy-haemoglobin in the brain, thereby providing insights into metabolic events in the cerebral cortex, which can be developed to measure brain activity. Existing continuous wave(CW) NIRS brain functional imaging instrument can be used in rapid measurements of human brain activity, but the instrument lack of appropriate supporting software. This thesis focused on the development of NIRS data processing software based on data collected from NIRS brain imaging system. The main contents are as follows:(1) Combined with the existing CW NIRS system, this study develops a software platform which can be applied to NIRS data analysis. Firstly, in order to get the data that reflect the activity of the brain function of hemodynamic parameters, the collected data must be processed, then display brain response status by time-domain curves and two-dimensional topographic map, furthermore, develop statistical analysis function for further evaluation of the experimental results. This study gives a detail analysis of software platform development requirements, and realize capabilities according to module partition of the software platform. Finally, a data processing software is developed to analyze NIRS data.(2) The performance of the NIRS data processing platform is evaluated and simulation experiments are conducted with the software platform. Firstly, this study makes simulation experiments of hemodynamic response in the process of brain activity and physiological interference by using the method of data processing software platform, which help obtain the brain function signal effectively. Thus, the results show that the useful signal can be extracted from experimental data by using the methods of the software platform theoretically.(3) A use of data processing and analysis platform in vivo is provided in this thesis. By designing Chinese characters Stroop task, in vivo experiments over the prefrontal cortex(PFC) are conducted by using our CW NIRS system and the data analysis is proposed by the software platform in this study. The activation area in conflict processing is acquired by the software platform. The results show that the software platform is able to detect the activation of the brain’s activity, which can be applied to brain function study.This study analyze data from both model experiment and vivo experiments, the results indicate that the advanced software platform is reliable, small interdependence, concise, friendly and extensible.
