Comparative Study Of WavefleX System And Traditional Fusion Surgery For Early-stage Lumbar Degenerative Disease

Objective:Through studying the effectiveness of the spinal canal decompression combined with using WavefleX Dynamic Stabilization system and traditional fusion surgery in the cure of lumbar degenerative disease,aim to observe the effect of two different operations on the activity of lumbar. Through studying the effectiveness of WavefleX system for the prevention of adjacent segment degeneration,aim to provide a effective and safty solution for the clinical treatment of lumbar degenerative disease.Methods: Analyse 60 patients undergoing spinal operation in the Department of orthopedics, Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,from 2014 September to 2015 November;17 cases with lumbar spinal canal stenosis, 15 cases of lumbar spondylolisthesis, 25 cases with lumbar disc herniation, 3 case with Lumbar spine instability syndrome. According to the surgical method, The patients are divided into Group Fusion(30cases with using traditional fusion surgery) and Group Nonfusion(30cases with using WavefleX system). Patients were followed up from 3 to 12 months, average 5.35 months, with the last follow-up data as judgement basis.By studying the operation time, intraoperative blood loss, pre-operation and post-operation VAS and ODI,evaluate the symptom improvement the two groups patients.Through analyzing the angular displacement, observe the effect of two different operations for the activity of patients lumbar.Results: Through the spss19.0 statistical analysis, using t test analysis, On the aspect of operation time, intraoperative blood loss, Group Fusion was higher than Group Nonfusion(P<0.05).The VAS and ODI of all patients was significantly better than that before operation(P<0.05).There is no significant difference between two groups on the rate of improvement of VAS and ODI scores.No statistical significance was found between pre-operation and post-operation activity of patients lumbar in Group Nonfusion. On theaspect of the loss of lumbar motility,Group Fusion was higher than Group Nonfusion(P<0.05).Conclusion: Compared with traditional posterior decompression and fusion,WavefleX system have the advantages in shorter operation time, less bleeding and so on.Even more, WavefleX system can effectively reduce the motility loss of operation lumbar and prevent the occurrence of adjacent segment degeneration, and there is no significant difference in the efficacy of two kinds of operation mode. Therefore, making a definitive diagnosis and choosing a reasonable method for the treatment of lumbar degenerative diseases can achieve a satisfactory result.
