Objective: The relationship between the study of TCM Syndromes of type 2 diabetes with carotid intima-media thickness(IMT), plasma lipid protein phospholipase A2(Lp-PLA2), homocysteine(Hcy) and the course of disease and the were clinical observation and theory analysis, diabetes of TCM syndrome type to provide objective basis for clinical reference. Methods: 100 cases of experimental group and normal control group(20 cases), experimental group of 100 patients respectively according to syndrome differentiation of TCM, exuberant heat due to yin deficiency type, the type of deficiency of both qi and Yin, qi stagnation and blood stasis, phlegm block type, respectively, to observe the correlation between the four groups of IMT, Lp-PLA2, Hcy and diabetes course, and through statistical data analysis and processing. Results: in type 2 diabetic patients with different TCM syndrome types of IMT, Lp-PLA2, Hcy levels differences, and there are different at different stages of diabetes duration. Conclusion: in the course of the development of type 2 diabetes, showing exuberant heat due to yin deficiency, Qi and yin deficiency, qi stagnation, blood stasis and phlegm block changes, phlegm and blood stasis through disease development from beginning to end.
