relaxation training is used in trauma patients.Compared the effect of different time, provided reliable basis for clinical nurses choose the best intervention time and method.Objective:1.To describe the incidence of mental health problems of acute trauma patients and its influencing factors.2.Identify the influence of relaxation training of the patients with acute trauma with the mental health problems.3.Identify the best opportunity of relaxation training to psychological intervention in patients with acute trauma.Methods:1.Rating scale measurement was performed for 120 acute trauma patients in department of emergency, southwest hospital,to understand the incidence of mental health problems in patients with trauma.Through the statistical methods, master the incidence of mental health problems of acute trauma patients and its influencing factors.2.120 acute trauma patients were randomly divided into 4 groups: group A: received relaxation training in the first day of hospitalization;Group B: received relaxation training in the forth day of hospitalization;Group C: received relaxation training in the seventh day of hospitalization;Group D: only received conventional psychological care. The relaxation training is once a days,30 minutes each time,6 times in total. The SCL-90 were measured before and after the experiment,to validate the effect of relaxation training, and compare the effect of different intervention time.Results:1.All the patients with acute trauma each factors and total score of SCL-90 were significantly higher than the national norm,in addition to paranoia and psychoticism(P < 0.01).2.The psychological problems in patients with acute trauma have showed the following characteristics: the score of 41 to 50 years old is higher than other age groups;the score of unemployed group is higher than other groups;patients with multiple trauma or severe trauma have higher score.3.Relaxation training has significantly effectiveness to improve the psychological status of patients with acute traumatic. After received relaxation training, the total score and each score of SCL – 90 were significantly decreased than before(P < 0.01).Compared with not receive the relaxation training group,SCL-90 total score significantly decreased(P < 0.05).4.Patients with acute trauma the earlier receive relaxation training, the better the effect.Group A which received relaxation training in the first day of hospitalization has the best effect than that of group B and group C(P < 0.05).Conclusion:1.Mental health problems are general among patients with acute trauma, and have its own characteristics. The nurses should focus on 41 to 50 years old, unemployed, multiple trauma and severe trauma patients, should give them timely psychological intervention,to reduce the posttraumatic psychological problems.2.Based on the standard of treatment and nursing, after relaxation training, psychological health problems were significantly reduced in patients with acute trauma, showing a good clinically practical significance.3.There have difference in intervention time for relaxation training alleviating mental health
