| Objective:1.To detect the expression of HIF-2α and VEGF – C in tongue squamous carcinoma tissues and to understand the relationship between the expression of HIF-2α and VEGF – C in tongue squamous carcinoma tissues and the invasive growth, histopathology classification and neck lymph nodes metastasis.2.To investigate the correlation between the expression of HIF-2α and VEGF – C in tongue squamous carcinoma tissues, and provide new markers and targets for diagnosis and therapy in the patients with tongue squamous carcinoma.Methods:HIF-2α and VEGF – C expression of 73 cases resected specimens of tongue cancer and 20 cases specimens of normal tissue adjacent to carcinoma as control were detected by Envision immunohistochemical methods. And we use X2 text to analyze the comparison between groups, meanwhile, the Spearman text is used to analyze the correlation of the experimental results.Results:1.The high level expression rate of HIF-2α in tongue squamous carcinoma tissues was 46.58%(34/73),while the HIF-2α is not expressed in adjacent non-cancerous tissues(0/25),statistical significance was observed between them(X2=17.830,p﹤0.01);Interestingly,the high level expression rate of VEGF – C in tongue squamous carcinoma tissues was 54.79%(40/73),while the high level expression rate of VEGF – C in adjacent non-cancerous tissues was 16.00%(4/25),statistical significance were observed between them(X2=11.329,p﹤0.05).2.The high level expression of HIF-2α was closely associated with neck lymph nodes metastasis(p=0.011),differentiation degrees(p=0.016)and clinical stages(p=0.026),there were statistically significant(p﹤0.05);However,it was hardly associated with patients’ gender(p=0.860),age(p=0.334).The high level expression of VEGF – C was closely associated with neck lymph nodes metastasis(p=0.016),differentiation degrees(p=0.015)and clinical stages(p=0.020),there were statistically significant(p﹤0.05);However,it was hardly associated with patients’ gender(p=0.519),age(p=0.455).3.Positive relation was observed between HIF-2α and VEGF – C in human tongue squamous carcinoma tissues(r=0.351,p﹤0.05).Conclusion:HIF-2α may up-regulate the expression of VEGF – C to promote the genesis of the lymph vessels, contributing to neck lymph nodes metastasis. |
