Clinical Study Of Combined GP Chemotherapy And Xianyu Decoction Plus SiJunZi In The Treatment Of Late Stage None-Small Cell Lung Cancer

ObjectiveTreatment for patients of None-Small Cell Lung Cancer should base on the principle of "survival with tumor ". When one taken into account strengthening the body resistance to eliminate pathogenic factors, at the same time, the improvement of life quality of patients should be considered sufficiently. To treat the None-Small Cell Lung Cancer in clinical research, the Jing Yan Fang of XianYu Decoction plus SiJunZi Decoction combined with chemotherapy methods of modern western medicine was employed. The effectiveness of using this integrated Chinese and Western therapy in treating the NSCLC was discussed especially in the clinical curative effect and the improvement of daily life quality.MethodsAll patients were segmented into two groups of study group with 37 cases and regular group with 37 cases according to random allocation. The patients of two groups have no significant statistical difference(P>0.05) in gender, age, type of cancer, metastases and healthy scores of general information. The regular group were adopted conventional therapy with GP chemotherapy only, using the Gemcitabine plus Cisplatin scheme. The study group were given the traditional Chinese medicine of XianYu Decoction plus SiJunZi Decoction on the basis of the GP chemotherapy. Compare with the two groups after two consecutive period of treatment, the clinical effect, symptoms, weight, quality of life score, the change of tumor markers, and toxic and side effects were observed and discussed effectively.ResultsThe comparison of two groups including the tumor lesion changes, symptoms improvement, the quality of life score and the weights. The study group using XianYu Decoction plus SiJunZi Decoction basis on the GP chemotherapy (Gemcitabine plus Cisplatin) therapeutic schedule are superior compared with the conventional group using GP only. Also there are no statistically significant difference in total effective rate of treatment (P>0.05). However, there have obviously statistical difference in stabilization of treatment (P<0.05) compared with two groups. Also the same superiorities are appeared in karnofsky performance status, weight, improvement of symptoms.ConelusionIt is found that the study group using the traditional Chinese medicine of XianYu Decoction plus SiJunZi Decoction on the basis of the GP chemotherapy have significant advantages compared with the regular group using the conventional GP scheme. The remarkable improvement in symptoms including the cough, sputum blood, loss of appetite, spontaneous perspiration night sweats, fatigue. Through the treatment with Chinese medicine, the living quality of patients acquired apparent improvement. The weight gain, appetite increase, mood cheer, all of those prove that the traditional Chinese medicine combined with western medicine therapy is an effective and harmfulless in the treatment of NSCLS patients.
