Observation Of The Clinical Efficacy Of Wenyang Bushen Moxbustion Treatment Vascular Dementia

Objective:This subject used wenyang bushen moxibustion to therapy VD patients. Through observing the change of Mental State Examination patients(MMSE), Activities of Daily Living Scale(ADL) and the Blessed Dementia Scale(BBS) of treatment before and after patients' in order to confirm the clinical value of wenyagn bushen moxibustion and has improvement of VD patients on cognitive function, activities of daily living and behavioral aspects.Method:Selected patients in 60 cases meeting the inclusion criteria of VD, cases come from hospital outpatient and in-patient Department of Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Chinese Medicine.The 60 patients to treatment were randomly divided into a control group and treatment group, 30 patients in each group. The control group was given conventional modern medical treatment: Improving blood circulation,Anti-platelet aggregation, Adjusting blood pressure and Controling blood sugar etc. On the basis of the control group,the treatment group plus method of wenyang bushen moxibustion: taking indirect moxibustion with turtle shell on Guanyuan and warming moxibustion on Mingmen and Dazhui. All patients were taked moxibustion once a day,one day of rest every week. After 4 weeks, observing the change of Mental State Examination patients(MMSE), Activities of Daily Living Scale(ADL) and the Blessed Dementia Scale(BBS) of the two groups of patients.Results:(1)Mental State Examination patients(MMSE): Compared the MMSE scores of two groups before treatment and there was no significant difference(P>0.05). The two groups were comparable. MMSE scores of the treatment group before and aftertreatment was compared. There was significant difference within the group before and after treatment(P<0.01). MMSE scores of the control group before and after treatment was compared. There was no significant difference within the group before and after treatment(P>0.05). Compared the MMSE scores of two groups after treatment and there was significant difference(P<0.01).(2)Activities of Daily Living Scale(ADL): Compared the ADL scores of two groups before treatment and there was no significant difference(P>0.05). The two groups were comparable. ADL scores of the treatment group before and after treatment was compared. There was significant difference within the group before and after treatment(P<0.01). ADL scores of the control group before and after treatment was compared.There was significant difference within the group before and after treatment(P<0.05).Compared the ADL scores of two groups after treatment and there was significant difference(P<0.01).(3) Blessed Dementia Scale(BBS): Compared the BBS scores of two groups before treatment and there was no significant difference(P>0.05). The two groups were comparable. BBS scores of the treatment group before and after treatment was compared. There was significant difference within the group before and after treatment(P<0.01). BBS scores of the control group before and after treatment was compared.There was no significant difference within the group before and after treatment(P>0.05). Compared the BBS scores of two groups after treatment and there was significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:Wenyang bushen moxibustion have improvement on cognitive function, activeities of daily living and behavioral aspects of VD patients. The treatment group is much better than the control group.Wenyang bushen moxibustion is effective, economical,convenient, safe and reliable on VD patients. It is worth spreading.
