Objective To understand the status of tuberculosis Patients Family-Economic burden in Guizhou, analyses the influencing factors of the Family-Economic burden and provide a scientific basis for the prevention and treatment (future development) of TB control Policies and strategies. Methods Total 430 PTB were selected by stratified sampling. Tuberculosis patients who were registered from 10 counties in Guizhou Province in June 2011-June 2012. Face to face interviews were performed by using a standard questionnaire. Basic characteristics of Patients, Family-Economic conditions and Expenditure due to the tuberculosis disease were collected.430 questionnaires issued, recycling effective questionnaires 400, effective questionnaire recovery rate was 93.02%. Demographic characteristics and family economic conditions of the Patients with Descriptive statistics; The Family-Economic indicators of PTB, such as direct, indirect and total costs were comparative analysis by using the Kruskal-Wallis H Test. Using binary classification logistic regression model to affect Patients with analyses the factors influencing the Family-Economic burden. Results (1) The total cost for TB patient families'median was 5281.88 RMB (average 8216.13 RMB), where direct cost median was 2680.00 RMB(average 5769.31 RMB), and indirect cost median was 1909.94 RMB(average 2446.82 RMB). (2) The main factors of the patients Family-Economic burden including Hospitalization, different income levels, different Age groups, Delays in treatment, education, the first diagnosed units and the number of diagnosed before treatment (P< 0.05). Conclusion (1) The Family-Economic burden of tuberculosis Patients is higher in Guizhou Province. (2) The burden for the patients includes hospitalization, low income, Age groups(in 30-44years of ages), Delays in treatment, education and so on;(3)To reduce The Family-Economic burden of tuberculosis Patients. Should do the followings:(a)Increase the funding of TB control;(b)Enhance the Propaganda of TB knowledge;(c)Improve the training system of grass-roots Health workers; (d)Strengthen the specification of TB Patients Diagnosis and medical institutions; (e)Perfect health care system for TB patients.
