Whereas relevant artificial cultivation research on Caulerpa lentillifera had been carried out both domestically and internationally,systematic research on indoor artificial cultivation,especially in indoor light environment with LED light source,requires further study.Therefore,in this study,the responses on growth and physiological characteristics of C.lentillifera components to different light quality,light intensity and photoperiod condition were examined.The results provided a rigorous theoretical basis for C.lentillifera of indoor artificial cultivation and sheds light on the optimal light environment conducive to the growth and the synthesis of physiological and biochemical component of C.lentillifera.Seven experimental groups were set up in the light quality experiment: full white light group(WL),full blue light group(B),full red light group(R),red/blue(5/1)light group(5R),red/blue(3/1)light group(3R),and red/blue(1/5)light group(5B),and the fluorescent lamp(CK)was used as the control.Then,the light intensity and photoperiod experiments of 5B and WL were optimized.Four gradient-levels were set up in the light intensity experiment: 2000 lx,4000 lx,6000 lx and 8000 lx.And the photoperiod of L: D = 8: 16(8 h / d),L: D = 12: 12(12 h / d),L: D = 16: 8(16 h / d)and L: D = 20: 4(20 h / d)was set in the experiment of photoperiod.The main results as follows:1.In the light quality experiment,regenerated vertical branch(RVB)and regenerated spherical ramuli(RSR)grew well under the 5B treatment,and there was no significant difference with the WL group.The diameter of RSR,and the fresh weight and the ratio of fresh weight to length of the regenerated vertical branch(RFLRVB)were the highest under 5B group,up to 1.83 mm,0.1809 g and 0.0064 g/mm.R treatment significantly increased the growth of regenerated stolons(RS),but significantly inhibited the growth of RVB and RSR.3R significantly inhibited the growth of RS,and the difference on the growth of RS between the other experimental groups was not significant.The growth rate of C.lentillifera under 5B and 5R treatment was also better than others.The photosynthetic pigments contents of C.lentillifera under B treatment were higher more than others.And the activity of total superoxide dismutase(T-SOD)was significantly higher under WL and 5B treatment.R treatment was beneficial to the synthesis and accumulation of soluble carbohydrate in C.lentillifera.Vitamin C was the most favorable synthesis under 5R treatment.And 5B treatment was beneficial to the synthesis and accumulation of free amino acid and total protein.2.In the light intensity experiment under 5B treatments,the results showed that the growth rate of C.lentillifera,the growth of RVB and RS were better at 2000-4000 lx,and the fresh weight of RVB was 0.1900 g and 0.2325 g respectively.The diameter of RSR was significantly higher under 2000 lx,which was 1.87 mm.The RFLRVB was the largest under 4000 lx,which was 0.0078 g/mm.The photosynthetic pigments of C.lentillifera were increased with the increase of light intensity.And the activity of T-SOD was higher under 4000-8000 lx.The total protein and soluble carbohydrate contents of the C.lentillifera reached the maximum under 8000 lx.The content of vitamin C was the highest under 6000 lx,and the content of free amino acid was the highest under 4000 lx.3.In the light intensity experiment under WL treatments,the growth of RVB and RS,the diameter of RSR grew best at 2000 lx.The fresh weight of RVB and the diameter of RSR were 0.2618 g and 1.89 mm respectively at 2000 lx.The RFLRVB was highest under 4000 lx,which was 0.0085 g/mm.The growth rate of C.lentillifera was significantly larger under 2000-4000 lx.The contents of photosynthetic pigments of C.lentillifera were the highest under 8000 lx.And the activity of T-SOD was the highest at 4000 lx.The content of protein was significantly highest under 8000 lx.The content of vitamin C was significantly highest under2000-6000 lx.The content of soluble carbohydrate was the highest under 6000 lx,and the content of free amino acid was significantly higher under 4000-6000 lx.4.In the photoperiod experiment under 5B treatment group,the growth rate,RVB,RSR and RS grew best under 12 h/d group.The diameter of RSR,the fresh weight of RVB and the RFLRVB were 1.79 mm,0.3331 g and 0.0082 g/mm respectively under 12 h/d group.The contents of photosynthetic pigments of C.lentillifera were highest under 20 h/d group.The activity of T-SOD was the highest under 8 h/d group,followed by 20 h/d group.The content of protein was the highest under 20 h/d group.The vitamin C content among 8 h/d,16 h/d and 20 h/d groups were higher more than other groups.The content of soluble carbohydrate was the highest under 16 h/d group,and the free amino acid was the highest under 12 h/d group.5.In the photoperiod experiment under WL treatment group,the growth rate,RVB,RS and RSR grew better under 12 h/d group.The fresh weight of RVB and the diameter of RSR were 0.3404 g and 1.62 mm respectively under 12 h/d,but the RFLRVB were largest under 20 h/d group,which was 0.0089 g/mm.The content of photosynthetic pigments in the C.lentillifera was higher under 20 h/d.And the T-SOD activity was significantly maximal under 8 h/d and 12 h/d.The content of total protein was significantly the highest under 20 h /d group,and the content of vitamin C was significantly the highest under 8 h/d and 20 h/d groups.The soluble carbohydrate content was the largest under 20 h/d,the free amino acid content under 16 h/d group was reach the maximum.In summary,the optimal light environment for the growth of C.lentillifera were: the light quality was 5B or WL,the light intensity was 2000 lx(WL)or 2000-4000 lx(5B);the photoperiods was 12 h/d.
