Currently,spray pole attitude control system are not designed for Heights gap boom sprayers produced by most of tractor enterprises in China.Generally speaking,the boom will have a relatively large vibration while Heights gap boom sprayer is working in the field.Especially,when it works on the bisectional road,the boom will tilt so largely that the spray will decline in quality due to the uneven road surface.Multiple reinforcement ribs which help to form a triangular structure were added in right-angled trapezoid of the original design to the support spray rod.However,the addition of too many reinforcement ribs leads to the increase of the whole mass of spray rod and the deflection at the end of the rod which will cause a decline in spraying quality and a waste of resources,at the mean while the complex structure makes it difficult to install the wind curtain system of the sprayer.A horizontal control system of spray rod was designed for the sprayer to simplify the original structure.When the spray rod tilted,a tilt sensor obtained the rod’s exact position signal which was sent to the controller.Then,the rod was adjusted to be horizontal by the hydraulic cylinder according to the output signal of the controller.The horizontal control system of spray rod proposed in this paper improve the spray rod structure but keep the overall structure of the sprayer,which has been proved to increase the spraying quality effectively.The development towards precision agriculture and precision irrigation is the future direction and the inevitable trend of the sprayer.The Heights gap boom sprayers is as the main research object in this paper.The horizontal control system was designed and its control effectiveness was verified by platform tests.The main tasks are:(1)Relevant research developments and trends at home and abroad were analyzed,and the advantages and disadvantages of some Heights gap boom sprayers were simply compared.The feasibility of the application of horizontal control system was analyzed and the main contents and significance of the research were proposed on the basis of the preliminary research.(2)The overall design of the Highland Gap spray sprayer rod was done in this section.A three-dimensional model of the machine was constructed,and then the key components were calculated and selected.Thirdly,a simulation analysis and structure optimization was made for some vulnerable parts in order to reduce the overall mass under the condition of meeting requirement.The transmission mechanism of most of the Heights gap boom sprayers use bevel gear transmission which bears relatively large axial load resulting in wearing the gear.Thus,a chain transmission was proposed to avoid being worn.Besides the chain transmission has higher transmission efficiency than gear.(3)The mechanical structure and the testing platform of the horizontal control system were designed.In order to simulate the field working condition,a hydraulic vibration table was designed.The stretching and shortening of hydraulic cylinder was controlled by the switch of the valve spool position of solenoid directional valve,resulting in different frequencies depending on the signal from the controller.(4)The horizontal control system was stimulated in AnsysTM,comparing the different installing position of the connecting rod to find an optimal position.The height control of rod was stimulated and analyzed in Matlab/SimulinkTM.(5)Based on the front chapters,a testing platform was built.Before the test,the sensors were calibrated in order to prepare and post-processing of data in the controller program,then the bench,at different respective spray bar vibration frequency,compare whether the boom boom level control system of vibration,through experimental verification boom level of effectiveness of controls,and for the boom to the open surface is inclined to do with causing the boom leveling response test,by testing the boom can quickly return to a horizontal position,to meet the design requirements.At last,paper does the summary for full paper and lists some future study points.
