In the present study,two treatments of normal nitrogen supply(N180kg/ha,control)and low nitrogen stress(NOkg/ha)were carried out,ten maize varieties in Guangxi Province were studied by nitrogen stress,and differences between the main agronomic characters of different maize varieties under the two conditions of nitrogen treatment were analyzed,andthe low nitrogen tolerance index of the main agronomic traits were analyzed by correlation analysis and principal component analysis to determine the screening index of low nitrogen tolerant maize.The fuzzy membership function method and the cluster analysis method were used to classify 10 kinds of maize varieties.The results of the study as follows:1.By comparing the differences of main agronomic characters of different maize varieties under two nitrogen treatments,the observation values of maize under low nitrogen stress conditions were all lower than that of nitrogen treatment.There were significant differences among the five traits of plant height,spikelet number,bald tip,100-grain weight and yieldunder two nitrogen treatments,and the effects of low nitrogen stress on ear position,ear length and ear row were less,there was no significant difference in two nitrogen levels.2.There were significant differences in low nitrogen tolerance among the different maize varieties.The plant height,ear height,spike grain number,bald tip,100-grain weight and yield of 10 maize varieties under low nitrogen stress had large amplitude,And the coefficient of variation of each index was between 3.57%and 45.63%.3.Different agronomic traits had different sensitivity to low nitrogen and were resistant to low nitrogen.The yield and baldness were the most sensitive under nitrogen stress.Correlation analysis showed that the correlation between maize characters and grain yield was in the order of kernel number>100-grain weight>bald tip>ear row>ear length>plant height>ear position.4.The relative characteristic vector of the yield,ear kernel number,100 grain weight and bald tip were high,the screening of low nitrogen tolerant maize should be based on the yield,ear kernel number,100 kernel weight,and the length of bald tip was the secondary concern.5.Based on the fuzzy membership analysis and cluster analysis of different maize varieties,the resistant ability to low-nitrogen of Guidan 0810 and Dika 008 were screened out.
