| Nitrogen is an important element affecting potato growth and yield formation, therefore nitrogen fertilizer is used extensively in potato production. There are lots of studies on nitrogen accumulation and its effect on tuber yield, however, the effect of nitrogen rate on plant C/N(carbon/nitrogen)ratio and the effect of resulted endogenous C/N in plant on tuberization are rarely reported. It presented that the tuber formation might be associated with C/N ratio in the potato in previous study,it is still not be proved.Based on this hypothesis, two growth seasons’ micro-tuber potato experiments in greenhouse and one year field experiment were performed to detect, using cultivars Shepody,Favorite and Kexin NO.1 as experimental material.By supplying different nitrogen rates, the growth and development,C/N ratio and tuber formation were investigated in this study. The main conclusions are as follows:1.With the increase of nitrogen rate, the nitrogen concentration in the plant gradually increase while carbon concentration don’t change, therefore the C/N ratio decrease gradually.2.With the increase of C/N ratio in seedling, the potato tuber formed earlier and the tuber weight and number increase. |
