Vermicompost is a new type of nutrient-rich organic fertilizer, which has a uniform particle,no smell, good ventilation, water retention and other characteristics.Vermicompost has great potentiality in improving soil and improve crop yield. In this study, the culture medium was prepared by using vermicompost leachate to cultivate complete strawberry seedlings, and the traits of Fragaria-vesca seedlings were investigated to analyze the effect of vermicompost. In addition, the pot experiment was carried out in the greenhouse, and the potted plants were strawberry(F.x ananassa)seedlings. There were six different volumetric ratios of vermicompost to soil, including CK(100%soil),Treatment 1(90%soil+10%vermicompost),Treatment 2(80%soil+20%vermicompost),Treatment 3(70%soil+30%vermicompost),Treatment 4(60%soil+40%vermicompost),Treatment 5(50%soil+50%vermicompost).The aim of this study was to compare the effects of different vermicompost treatments on the morphological and physiological indexes of strawberry and the effects on the microbial properties of soil. And the main findings are as follows:1.The plant height, leaf area and petiole length of strawberry planted in the culture medium prepared by 20%vermicompost leachate were significantly higher than those of the control and other treatments.2.In the pot experiment, the application of vermicompost significantly affected the growth and development of strawberry plants. At the flowering stage, the plant height, leaf area, petiole length and leaf number reached the maximum value in treatment 3,and the maximum values were 27.75cm,81.45cm2,19.08cm and 4.8 tablets, respectively. The results showed that the growth of plants increased with the increase of the proportion of vermicompost when the proportion of vermicompost was less than 30%,and a similar trend was observed in the other three stages.3.The application of vermicompost significantly affected the runner growth of strawberry plants. The number of runner has the highest value in treatment 3,and the diameter of runner increased significantly with the increase of the vermicompost. The propagation number was the highest at treatment 3,and the difference was not significant between the different vermicompost treatments, but they were significantly higher than those of the control.4.Appropriate amount of vermicompost can increase strawberry yield and improve fruit quality.20%and 30%of the vermicompost treatments were more obvious in increasing the yield and quality of strawberry.Comparing to the control, the yield increased by 71.16%,the average fruit weight increased by 17.57%,and the content of soluble sugar and vitamin C increased by 36.17%and 12.30%,respectively.5.The application of vermicompost has a positive effect on the physiological function of strawberry. The application of vermicompost increased the activity of SOD,decreased the content of malondialdehyde and significantly enhanced the photosynthetic parameters of the strawberry plants.30%of the vermicompost treatment had the strongest activity of SOD,which reached to 667.87 U·g-1.40%of the vermicompost treatment had the lowest malondialdehyde content, which reached to 9.64 ?mol·kg-1.And the chlorophyll content and net photosynthetic rate of 20%of the vermicompost treatment were the highest, which were 1.80 mg·g-1 and 23.87 ?mol·m-2·s-1 respectively.6.The results of soil properties showed that the addition of vermicompost increased significantly the soil enzyme activity, microbial biomass and cation exchange capacity compared with the control. And those properties enhanced with the increase of vermicompost concentration. The above results indicated that the addition of 30%vermicompost to the soil has the best effect on the growth and development of strawberry plants.
