Adobe architecture is widely used in the world because of its simplicity and economy.In this paper,the seismic performance of composite Adobe wall with wood frame is analyzed,which provides some suggestions for the seismic design and construction of Adobe houses.Firstly,through the pseudo static test of adobe wall and composite Adobe wall with wood frame,to observe the failure process,and sum up the failure mode;the bearing capacity,ductility,hysteretic curves,skeleton curves,energy dissipation and stiffness degradation curve according to the test results,analysis of specimen seismic performance.Secondly,the finite element simulation of each test wall is carried out,and the numerical simulation analysis of the factors influencing the results of quasi-static test of adobe wall is carried out,At last,the calculation formulas of the initial stiffness and the lateral bearing capacity of the composite wall are summarized.Research shows:(1)Adobe wall is mainly affected by the shear failure,and the failure of composite Adobe wall with wood frame is divided into the following four stages:The whole Elastic working stage;the stress stage of adobe wall;the cooperative working stage;the four stages of the destruction of the wooden frame.The composite wall is superior to the adobe wall in bearing capacity,deformation capacity and energy consumption.(2)The axial compression ratio have a great influence on adobe wall shear strength,But with the increase of the wall height,the influence of axial compression ratio gradually weakened.The influence of loading method for adobe wall pseudo-static test cannot be ignored,the adobe wall pseudo-static test with L-shaped loading beam compared with the failure pattern in practical engineering.(3)The H/B ratio of the wall and the size of the section of the frame are the important factors which affect the shear strength.A simplified formula for calculating the initial stiffness and lateral bearing capacity of composite Adobe wall with wood frame is presented.(4)The wood frame is set in the connection of the vertical and horizontal wall,which will destroy the original integrity of the wall,resulting in the deterioration of stiffness and the improvement of the bearing capacity is not obvious.The wooden frame should be set at the outside of the connection of the vertical and horizontal wall,and the ferrocement mortar shall be used to strengthen the connection and improve the integrity.
