Energy shortages and global warming are the major contemporary challenges confronted by the worldwide human being.As for wastewater treatment process,it will have unusual significance if we can make it accessible for recollection of energy contained in the wastewater and reduction emissions of carbon dioxide at the same time in the process of removing pollutants.This article will combine Microbial fuel cell with algae and present a revolutionary wastewater treatment technology,Photosynthetic alga microbial fuel cell(PAMFC).This paper constructs an experiment for research into PAMFC which was built to study the influcen of different electron donors of electricity production performance as well as the growth of Chlorella vulgaris inside,then to study the influence of different environmental factors of electricity production performence of PAMFC.And the electricity production performance of PAMFC with the hydrosulphite wastewater as the electron donor and the removal rate of the wasterwater COD.finally get the conclusions as below:(1)The studies of the PAMFC with two electron donors as an anode substrate,have shown that the PAMFC starts respectively with Sodium acetate trihydrate and Glucose as the electron donor,with the same conditions,the simpler anode substrate,the shorter startup time of PAMFC and the higher Open circuit voltage and the maximum output power of PAMFC.This experiment also research on the Chlorella in the PAMFC and that grows in the general condition Production performance about the differences of the growth,chlorophyll content,protein content and soluble sugar content.This experiment has found that the PAMFC can promote photosynthesis of Chlorella,anode in the experiment is the simple structure electron donor which can make the PAMFC obtain a greater power output and make it produce more biomass of Chlorella in cathode with more chlorophyll and nutritional ingredients.(2)Comparing of the voltage change-time curves,polarization curves and power density curves of PAMFC with sodium acetate as the electron donor,under the different conditions of temperature,light intensity and pH values,the article analysis and conclude that the best operating conditions for PAMFC with sodium acetate asthe electron donor,is that the temperature is 30?,the light intensity is 5000 Lux and pH=6.(3)When Anode substrate of PAMFC is replaced by Sodium Hydrosulphite wastewater,comparing the Production performance and degradation performance under different condition of temperature,pH values of anode liquid and inlet COD concentration.The result of experiment has shown that,the temperature is 30 ? and pH value is neutral,increasing the inlet COD concentration of Sodium Hydrosulphite helps to improve Production performance and degradation performance and that shows that PAMFC established by this experiment can recollect energy in the Sodium Hydrosulphite wastewater while treating the wastewater.And the experiment also provide certain basic research data of using PAMFC to treat Sodium Hydrosulphite wastewater.
