At present,most of the energy dissipation design use single energy consumption component.But when the building structure is located in high seismic intensity area,the single energy dissipation component has obvious shortcomings.Therefore in this paper,we use hybrid damping structure consist of buckling restrained energy dissipation brace and viscous dampers to reduce the amount of viscous dampers or buckling restrained braces and to avoid the stiffness of the structure being too small or too large.In the hybrid damping structure,the viscous damper is used to reduce the seismic response of the structure and the buckling restrained brace is used for structural deformation control.Therefore,the hybrid damping structure can withstand a variety of test conditions.Under the action of small earthquake,viscous dampers produce energy consumption and reduce the seismic action.Under the action of medium or large earthquake,the buckling restrained brace yield.The hybrid damping structure with energy consumption not only can save material,but also to a greater extent to protect the main structure from seismic damage.In this paper,the types,structure and damping principle of the damper structure are introduced in detail.The equivalent linearization and restoring force model of viscous dampers and buckling restrained braces are analyzed.In this paper,the advantages of the hybrid damping structure,the principle and design method are introduced in detail.The equivalent period,equivalent stiffness and equivalent damping ratio of hybrid damping control system are analyzed.Finally,combined with the actual project,the finite element analysis software MIDAS GEN is used to analyze the time history analysis results of 5 cases under different conditions and response spectrum under frequent and rare earthquakes.The result shows that the viscous damper has a certain damping ratio for the structure,but it does not increase the natural vibration period stiffness of the structure.The setting of buckling restrained brace makes the damping ratio and stiffness of the structure increased,the natural vibration period of the structure greatly reduced.So the seismic response of the structure is enlarged,but its damping effect is greater than the seismic amplification.Therefore,the damping effect of different damping structures is as follows from large to small,hybrid damping structure,pure viscous damper damping structure,pure buckling restrained brace structure,undamped structure.
