Long baseline acoustic positioning system can achieve the goal of navigation and positioning. In this paper, the acoustic transponder is one of the basic components of the system. The main function of a transponder is to receive the upstream acoustic remote command to complete all kinds of control and query operation, complete the navigation and positioning of the target in the query response mode or beacon mode, at the same time, the responder also has the water leakage alarm function and serial communication function. This thesis focuses on the software design of the MCU inside the transponder, and discusses the principle and performance of the algorithm used in the transponder. The content of the paper includes the complete process about the preliminary correlation algorithm performance simulation research to the latter part of the lake trial demonstration.Firstly, do introduce the principle of adaptive Notch filter with narrow band signal processing, do complete a full simulation analysis of adaptive Notch filter,do study the realization principle of CORDIC algorithm, and do simulate and compare the comparison between CORDIC algorithm and sin function calculation. Then, design and implementation of responder instruction decoding function, to complete the design and commissioning of each serial bus interface for communication,to achieve the transponder inquiry answering function and beacon function on the MCU platform. The software of the transponder experienced the validation of laboratory alignment, test in the pool and test on the lake, proved that the design and implementation of software can realize the design function and achieve the performance index of the software.
