Historic architectures have a certain of scientific value,historic value,cultural value and artistic value.However,more and more historic architectures have been destroyed at present.How to provide permanent information for the protection of historic architectures has become a difficult problem to be solved now.On the other hand,Building Information Modeling guides construction,which can improve the project production efficiency,shorten the construction period,reduce the cost of construction and improve the quality of construction.But how to test the quality of construction guiding by the BIM technology has become another problem in the field of architecture.The traditional measurement technology is difficult to solve these two problems in the field of architecture.Terrestrial laser scanning technology with its non-contact can quickly and comprehensively obtain the 3D coordinates of points on the building surface and the building information can be recorded in the form of point clouds.It provides technology for the protection,repair,reconstruction of historic architectures and the inspection of construction quality guiding by the BIM technology and lays the foundation for solving these two problems.In this paper,I use terrestrial laser scanner to collect data from the master building of Hefei University of Technology and obtain the overall point clouds of the master building.Also,I draw elevation maps of the building,detect wall flatness and build three-dimensional model based on point clouds,also produce the master building point cloud roaming,panoramic virtual display and simple virtual roaming of three-dimensional model.They help digital archiving and provide permanent information for subsequent protection.Also I use terrestrial laser scanner to collect data from the Shanghai Disney construction site guiding by the BIM technology,compare the point clouds and Building Information Modeling and do research on inspection of the construction quality guiding by BIM technology with rich contrasting results.
