Multi-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM)has the characteristics of high power density,high power factor,high reliability and good fault tolerance ability.Especially with the development of microelectronics and modern power electronics technology,fault tolerance technology has been widely used in the field of motor drive system with high reliability requirements.The application of fault tolerant technology is limited,because the traditional permanent magnet motor has the bigger current,So that the fault-tolerant permanent magnet motor with small short-circuit current has become the focus research.The five phase hybrid permanent magnet motor(PMSM)is also called the five phase permanent magnet motor,which has good performance and small short-circuit current.So taking the five phase(hybrid)permanent magnet motor as the research object,this paper deeply explores the fault-tolerant strategy in the six situations when the motor has the open circuit fault of one-phase,adjacent or not adjacent two-phase and the short circuit fault of one-phase,adjacent or not adjacent two-phase.With the.help of modeling function of the matlab/simlink,the correctness of the fault tolerant control methods were verified.In this paper,the main efforts and contributions are mainly reflected in the following aspects:1.Summarizing the status of research in the fault tolerance strategies of open circuit and short circuit,then introducing the structure characteristics of five-phase hybrid motor and analyzes its short circuit current,which shows that the five-phase hybrid motor has the natural advantage of fault tolerance operation.This work lays a good foundation for the research of fault tolerance for the five-phase motor.2.Studing the current fault-tolerant strategies when the motor windings is opened or shorted,then deriving the mathematical expressions of the fault-tolerant current based on the principle of minimum copper loss.3.Basing on the formula[ua ub uc ud ue]T T??=[ub' uc' ud' ue']T T??',the voltage fault-tolerance strategies of five phase motor are studied.4.The simulation models of five phase permanent magnet motor are established in the matlab/simlink,which are used to verify the correctness of the fault tolerant strategies of open circuit and short circuit fault.
