The performance of high pressure compressor directly affects the whole performance of the engine. CFD numerical simulation has been widely used in the current design and performance prediction of the high pressure compressor, but it is still difficult to evaluate the accuracy of the calculation results because of a lack of experimental data. Based on this, this paper has made the inter-stage flow field experiments and numerical study on a multi-stage axial compressor.Firstly, the measurement of inter-stage flow field has been done on the four-stage low-speed axial compressor laboratory furniture, and large amounts of the internal flow structure data of the compressor has been obtained, including the overall performance parameters of the compressor, the inter-stage flow field parameters, and the flow field in the stator sub-channel, et al.. Through this testing, the database of testing has been expanded, and provided support for the numerical simulation results of calibration.Secondly, steady numerical calculations for the compressor model which set under different conditions has been done with the use of commercial software NUMECA, the result show that: changing the meshing means(including the percentage of uniform grid in mainstream area, the number of grid nodes in the radial direction in tip clearance, and the total number of grid nodes in the computational domain) can influence the simulation results, and the percentage of uniform grid in mainstream area has maximum influence on the calculation results. At the same time, the use of different turbulence model can larger influence the overall performance of the compressor. Besides, various schemes have certain influence on the accuracy of the simulation results.Finally, get the best numerical simulation which can best meet the experimental result by comparing the analysis of the calculation and experimental results, and then provided the necessary support for the use of numerical simulation in design and optimize of compressor.
